Crap... again!
Anyone knows what is this and why?
1 on 3 prints is in totally mess...
Sometimes prints fail from first layer, sometimes fail after printing half of project.
USB stick is the same, ".photon" file is made in chitubox 1,5 and also the same, resin is the same, settings the same... and still 2-3 prints came perfectly and one mess up...

Pls help :(

Hey hive mind. Having an issue that i haven't had before and need help, happening in the last few days. Using anycubic trans yellow. Ive printed this peice a dozen times without supports, and had this issue on other prints. I have... retuned fep screen was a bit uneven and at 220 now at 330. Releveled and cleaned tray. Tried different usb sticks. Checked lcd screen runs fine, cleaned screen. The problem keeps happening in the same place on the tray, Items on the right print better. Tried in updated chitubox and verfied. The ring on the left are slight indents in the fep but has never caused an issue

Having a problem with my photon s when I plug the usb drive into the printer it freezes and if I put it in then power it just displays the anycubic logo on the screen and don’t do anything else

I was all set to pull the trigger on the photon, but I hear they switched out the chitubox motherboard and now I have to use anycubic's proprietary slicer software, which apparently is terrible. Is this true? I cant use chitubox? Has a fix been developed?

A lot of people in this group have become very anti-fauxton, when it seemed the original was the better choice. Is that because they're upset they have to re-slice all their STLs? As a brand new user, should this motherboard change bother me?

So due to the anycubic backlash, I'm now looking at the Mars, but I'm having trouble changing my bias because I've spent so long researching the photon which used to get better reviews. Is the mars now better than the fauxton, or at least comparable? I dont love how the whole cover pulls off and how the USB port is on the back for some reason. But I can look past it, if it's the more reliable easy to use machine with better software compatibility.

The mars is $20 more than the photon on amazon.ca right now. My understanding is that usually the mars is cheaper. But both prices are good right now on sale ($339 cdn vs $359 cdn for the Mars).

So from those who have used/owned both, which way should I go? Is there anything else I should consider? Is the community support for the mars comparable to the photon? I'd like to pull the trigger during this sale which I'm guessing will end after cyber Monday.

Is there anything special you have to do to get this thing to recognize the usb or files. I sliced on Chitubox and plugged it in no files showing on printer not a whole lot of info on that part

Hi Guys, Recently got the photon S and thanks to some helpful people here got a successful print of the test file from anycubic.

I've gone to print my first file, added supports etc and thought I was ready to print.

However as soon as I plug a USB with the file into the printer the touchscreen becomes non-responsive, not even recovering if the USB is removed. I delete the file off the USB and it doesn't freeze the photon when plugged in again.

I tthought it might be the crappy included USB so tried another USB without any success either.

My process for preparing the file had been:
1)auto orient and supports from prusa slicer
2)import stl into chitubox to export as .photon
3)use photon validator to check for islands
4)fix islands in chitubox
5)export as photon from chitubox

When I first started getting the freezing I tried exporting from chitubox as a stl and importing into photon workshop and exporting from there as a pws but still having the same issue

My Photon arrived yesterday and I have a few questions about operation. I plan to use a laptop to connect to the printer. What software and/or hardware will I need to do this other than what is on the provided flash drive and a USB cable? If number 1 isn't a good setup, what is the largest in size flash drive can I use for file transportation? Are there any good Youtube videos that explain how to do things?

Hey everyone, just started and did my first print and seems to look ok to me ?‍♂️ My questions is there seems to be some residue or sediment left in the tank? Is this normal and should I strain it before doing another print? Also what is it, slightly cured resin maybe? Thanks greatly in advance!

I’ve only printed the test file off the USB once. I used Esun Plant based resin (Green) and thought it would be a close enough match to the pre-sliced settings to get me started.

Hello, trying to update the firmware following the instructions. However, after loading the firmware to the USB and plugging it in and turning on the printer there is no Di Di Di initial loading of the code. i can see the other files are there from the print section. any advice? thanks!

Hi guys! What could possibly be the cause of fact that a print stops in the middle of the guide (78%) leaving the screen black...I’ve hit the pause button to see if by pressing play the print would have started again but the message “print elapsed” popped out...resulting this.........
Please help me! Should I format the USB drive? Or switch from chitubox to photon slicer? Thanks.
