2 days of no problems then the machine just started restarting after the 1st or 2nd layer. Purchased better power supply, 2 different usbs formatted to fat32, multiple files attempted, bypassed usb plug straight into board.... still no luck. Any thoughts?

Do you guys even know what’s going on? It’s the worst print I’ve ever had.... No issues with the resin, or FEP film. Just that a few times I tried printing the display part of the screen on the printer is black and Z axis was making weird noises when it was trying to start printing. I changed the USB stick to my own and this still happened. I really have no idea. I used ZBrush this first time and this is what I got. I’m so frustrated. This is already the second failed print I’ve had for this project. I’m gonna attach all the files I’ve had including the ZBrush file. I first started drawing on ZBrush, then I moved the file to Blender as obj.Next I transferred it out as stl. Then I used the slicing program. After the first failed print, I changed the profile to the one on the Google Doc that says Maroon. And here we are, a big blob of resin that’s worth over 50 bucks. Such a waste....

Evening all, still getting used to the new photon. First few prints have gone well, until this evening.

Only half of the items I set up in the slicer printed. All the supports I created printed fine, but the actually parts I wanted were a no print. I've checked the tank and nothin v was left behind or broken off.

I'm guessing it was a corrupted file transfer to the USB or or a dodgy export. The silcer previewed showed all my items.

Anybody elese run into this problem or have any ideas what would cause this?

Is it normal? I cannot get work my printer. I re adjusted Z axis, changed memory USB Stick, I upgraded firmware and I leveled the build platform many times but as you can see I cannot get good definition at 0.05 microns do you have any idea? Could you help me? I checked all connected rooms but everything is fine, I changed FEP film. I began to make calibration because in the last prints I'm loosing resolution and after the print finish some reason get stick into the VAT. i don't think that the issue is the LCD. Thanks

New photon shuts itself down and restarts with or without usb inserted. Ordered a new power supply. Hope that’s it!

Hey Photonsters, HELP PLEASE

I have been printing happily for a month now with no issues, not perfect prints but no major issues.

The printer was rested for a week and now when i'm trying to print i'm having some issues. I wanted to check my printer for z-wobble etc as i'm about to do some more precise prints so I ran the 'not a cube' test file from the group.

Disaster, the file printed but about half way up the printer appears to be curing sheets across the vat interconnected with the print. It left an ungodly mess on the FEP which I then tore trying to clean. Resin also appeared to seep under the FEP onto the screen and cure there too.

I changed the FEP, cleaned the screen etc and thought I was sorted. Also changed USB sticks and resliced the file.

The next attempt at the 'not a cube' was a similar fail but not quite as bad, the Vat also 'stuck' to the printer when trying to remove it. Although there is no residue underneath the vat or on the screen to account for anything sticking.

I cleaned up and thought i'd try a different file that I have succesfully printed before and I had the same problems, again not quite as bad but the problem is there.

Can anyone give any pointers or is it worth returning to Amazon and getting a fresh printer. As you can see from the photos the first half of the prints came out great (again not perfect but good enough for now) and the issues started higher up. As a chance both files are exactly the same number of layers so I would have though the error would come at the same height but apparently not.

Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone can help me. Ive had a photon for a few months and successfully printed several miniatures. Just this morning I tried to print a file of six miniatures that Ive done several times before, and after the second layer the Photon stopped and reset itself. I cleaned the two layers off the plate and tried again. Same Thing.Ive retried this several times today using different usb sticks, redoing the files from scratch, everything. I even filter the resin between attemps. Funny thing is that each time i filter the resin there is a layer in the tray that hasn,t stuck to the plate its just sitting in the tray. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it because it was working perfect last night. Thanks heaps

Hey guys, thanks for the accept!

i just bought an Anycubic Photon and am having some issues with it and i wonder if you can help me?

Basically, when i plug the USB stick in, the touchscreen freezes. The stick flashes as if it's being read but the screen is still frozen. When i unplug the USB stick, the screen works instantly again.

Here's what i've done so far -
*I've reformatted the USB stick with FAT32 - nothing changed.
*I've unplugged the USB extension cable and plugged the USB stick directly into the motherboard - nothing changed.
*I've tried all of the above with 2 different memory sticks.
*I've tried plugging the stick in and THEN turning the machine on. The screen is unfrozen right up until i press print and it shows me 4 black squares (as if nothing is on the stick) and then freezes.

It sort of feels like a firmware issue but i'm hesitant to change that as the site's firmware is older than the one on my machine.

I got one print off it fine (part of it failed but i think that may be to my incorrectly leveling the plate) and now it's acting all peculiar.

Is it possible to set up a print to start from a certain layer like with FDM? Had a print stop at 97% because of a memory error. I unplugged the USB (not the stock USB stick) then plugged it back in per the error code's instructions and it said the print was completed. Thanks!
