Hi fellow printers, I hope this is an acceptable place to ask, I need some advice on what to expect when dealing with the Anycubic hardware support.

Today my barely used Photon made a "pzzzt" sound and then acrid smoke billowed out from the body while the display screen flickered. I switched it off immediately and then lodged a ticket with Anycubic. I suspect it's related to the Z axis as it's movement has was sluggish, it kind of accelerated then decelerated, rather than the responsive and steady movement of other machines I've seen.

I've just received a response from support instructing me to refer to an instructional video, open it up and investigate what burnt/caused the burning. Also to attach a different adapter and try and power it on.

The printer is less than a year old and has only been used a handful of times. Am I at risk of voiding my 12 month warranty by following their instructions to open it up and tinker/investigate things?

Any advice is much appreciated! Thank you.

I haven’t used my printer in a whole week! But when I went to print again today it seems to have came un-zeroed/leveled. Starts trying to push the build plate through the lcd. Just bought a new Anycubic Photon a few days ago. When pressing the "Home" button it squashes the build plate against the LCD screen making the paper unmovable. Their customer service said it should be stopping before the LCD just like my original. It also came with a cracked window from screw being tightened too much and a broken hinge on the door.
I figured it wasn't too bad as there's no stressing sound with the "Home" issue, so I decided to level and print. Then when starting a print, the back half of the build plate pops up cause nothing to stick on the back half. Tried about 6 different prints, as well as using my original build plate. Only the front half stuck.
My first Photon I got a little over a year ago still prints amazing. Some adhesion issues sometimes, but nothing too bad. Just finished the Spiderman diorama by Sanix. Tried the new build plate, so the build plate is fine. They tried to play it off saying I don't know how to level and it's just getting on my nerves now. I've been printing over a year and it took sales 3 days to get back to me after I spammed the shit out of their ticket service when they stopped contacting me.
If there is an easy fix, I would love to know. But after troubleshooting everything, I can't figure out the reason why.
Everything is even, Z-Axis stuff isn't bent, LCD screen is level, and the new build plate worked fine on my old machine.
Now they want me to pay for return shipping as they think it's an issue with my leveling. I'm really starting to hate Anycubic ? A year ago I would have sworn by them.

Hello everyone!

I've been working hard sculpting high quality undead models for the next month, so I would love to share all the prints I made on my Anycubic Photon with you!

These models were printed on 2 different sizes, the bigger ones were primed in order to highlight details.

0.03 the most and 0.05 layer height in some small models. If you have any question related please let me know!

P.D: All models are supportless but the big one, he is pre-supported.

Hi all,
New and happy owner of a Photon S here!
I've designed a part for an old moped that I'm trying to print. I used auto support generation in PrusaSlicer. My print came out fine but not perfect. Where the supports were the part's surface looks like it was melted. The other side is perfect. See pictures.
I used Anycubic Aqua Blue resin, 0.05mm layer, 50/9s exposure, 8 bottom layers. I cured the part with 60W UV light for about 40 minutes (I guess this irrelevant).
Any clue how to make it better? More supports?

Test print and first miniature (keg golem): SUCCESS. Hella excited to figure out what’s next! What primers do you guys recommend for resin printing (this is just anycubic gray)? Generally use acrylic paints if that matters.

***SOLVED*** Newbie asks: Making some small squares about 2 mm thick with Anycubic transparent green.. Prints great but on the FEP instead of the plate. Printing flat and I'll post a screen shot of my Chitubox settings. I have, printed other bigger items successfully to the plate but developed this problem a day ago where nothing wants to stick to the plate.
