Hi!
So I am a proud owner of a Photon (luckily, the original, not a fauxton), bought last week with firmware 4.2.17

A couple of days ago, I got hit by the random freeze/reset/restart failure. After the first layer, the photon crashes and reboots, leaving me with the cured first layer of resin and having to clean up.

I can usually resolve the issue by turning off the printer, unplugging the usb stick, unplugging power for a couple of minutes. Replug power cord, turn on, and replug usb stick. If I want to start another print back2back, I will receive the first layer-freeze-restart error.

I have so far: checked the usb cable connections (inside back panel), which looked fine.

Through research, this seems to be an issue with some ICBuffer? Will a factory reset (via factory-default.gcode) help me with my issue? Should I upgrade to FW 4.2.18 first or after the reset?

Do I have to relevel (and set new z=0) after flashing FW or resetting to factory-default?

I have also read that the EEPROM may be corrupted through unstable power supply? How can I check if my power brick is faulty?

I have also replaced the anycubic usb stick with a new branded one and will stick to that one with all my ongoing operations.

Has anyone used elegoo transparent green on their photon and can recommend decent exposure settings for printing with it? I usually refer to the Google doc most people use but it doesn't seem to list said resin

Looking at some of the many mods mention for the Photon. One is the addition of a heater and another is the extraction of the resin fumes. Has anyone installed both? If so are you finding that the extraction of the fumes sucks out the heat and the heater cannot keep up?

do any of you have multiple resin vats?.. different colors, typs, or generally just too lazy to clean it to change the resin?

Thanks for the help
The issue was the photon file was meant for the green transparent resin

My anycubic shipped with orange opaque so I just sliced the STL with the correct settings for the resin
Specially the bottom cure time

And bam

Hi there, i just did the "photon s resin exposure finder" with anycubic black, what do you think is the best? In my opinion they all look shity :(

What for settings domyou recommend for anycubic black? I took the settings from the google list for photon s, but iam not sure if i should try 7 seconds normal exposure time.

whoa baby. I have not printed on my Photon in about four months. Cleaned it all up, printed out a Star Wars X34 and it turned out great, but what I didn't remember was the smell. Holy cow! I love the smell of resin..it is like roses.

Hey folks, is this dead, do you think? Ordered about 6 months ago and never took it out the box. Too late to return it and just realised it's a really old bottle, dated 07/2018. Is that a 'best before' date? Does resin 'go off' with age? Is it worth trying it or is it doomed to fail? Thanks in advance!

Got my printer 2 weeks ago. Missing one of the red resin vat screws. Called Amazon said I had to contact anycubic. Got an email they are on vacation for Chinese NewYear till Feb. any option for screw. Don’t won’t vat to move
