Woke up this morning to a failed print that had stalled about 50mm up from 0. I found that my photon's X/Y motor had locked up. Not sure why or next steps. ?‍♂️
I've taken the bottom off and found resin had leaked from the build compartment to the electronics compartment. I did find that the hex screws under my resin vat were looser than I'd have liked but the way they hold the fep in I don't imagine that's where it would be leaking. The boards are all untouched and so I've started cleaning up the excess resin that had leaked around the walls and intend on taking off the X/Y motor to confirm there is resin in it but wanted a second opinion. I'm wondering if this X/Y motor issue is what caused the resin to spill or if spilled resin might have killed the motor. How many of you have had to replace the X/Y motor at all? How many of you fill the resin to the top and set your prints to go overnight? What about the loose hex screws under the vat? Are they the smoking guns? Should I reach out to Anycubic, is their support worth messing with? Thanks for the advice!

OK I know I'm new to resin printers but in all seriousness with fdm I can see a failure in 5 min. Reset and be good how do you the pros in here know it is working and can walk away and not wait for 1 hr or so to look at build plate while it lifts up and then see its failed. I don't wanna waste time if it's bad. Any pro tips. CN I. Somehow edit gcode or equivalent to in 5 min lift up to viable height then let me inspect and then continue? Or am I asking too much of such a low cost printer? I'm sure I can't be only one who has had this question.

After extensive information digging there are two doubts I still have.
1) In the FEP installation videos I see at the very end a scalpel is used to remove excesses out of the vat, doesn't this ruin the inside surface of the metal by carving it with the blade? I would prefer to cut it with something else, maybe small precision scissors, less accurate but leading to no damage to the metal surface
2) I will be using the printer occasionally, and usually you get warned about resin getting "old", and especially leading to problems if left in the vat where it might get solid. Would covering the whole printer with a heavy black cloth, stopping 100% of the light, be equivalent to move the residual resin back into the bottle after the print? Also, have tests been done to see for how long can a resin bottle be proficiently used in time if stored in optimal conditions (which are these conditions?)

Hi everyone. Extremely new to resin printers. I have seen the spreadsheet for the exposure times for the different resins. My Photon did not come with resin, so I purchased the standard Anycubic grey and the test print is failing. Is it safe to say that the original file for the test print was set up using the green settings which seem to be faster exposure times and could be causing under exposure?

Hi guys, thanks for the add. I’m at a total loss at what to do to get my builds to stick. My first test print (the lattice cube) came out perfectly, not a single imperfection. I used the Anycubic green resin, and the print right off of the USB that the machine came with.

I go to do my 2nd print, without changing anything, and it won’t stick. I’ve tried anywhere between 8 and 10 first layers, between 80 and 120s first layer exposure time, etc.

I can hear the print pulling off of the FEP for the first few layers, but it just falls off somewhere around 15-20 minutes after the print starts.

I’ve releveled the bed 3x using both flint reed and paper methods. Is it possible the model itself being messed up? It falls off before any supports are even printed it seems.
