Just sitting here twiddling my fingers waiting for my ultrasonic cleaner to heat up so I can wash my first resin print ever.

只是坐在這裡扭動我的手指等待我的超聲波清潔器加熱, 這樣我就可以洗我的第一個樹脂列印.

Jolene Sweeney I gave up And just stuck it in there. Now I’m curing it in my nail light.

2020-03-16 12:43:35

Riika Magnus nice! Yep I bought a uv light and a whit box with a spin table. :) I use acetone tho! Mean green did not work

Riika Magnus
2020-03-16 12:44:59

Jolene Sweeney I used Mr. Clean today. I think it cleaned it alright ?‍♀️

How long are you supposed to cure it in the UV light for?

Jolene Sweeney
2020-03-16 12:46:50

Riika Magnus I left mine for a out an hour honestly. I did 6 hours too wasn't an issue. But I looks like about 20 min is fine roo

Yea I had a terrible time! Lol but working well now.

Riika Magnus
2020-03-16 12:49:24

Riika Magnus
2020-03-16 12:50:44

Jolene Sweeney sooo I did a about 4 mins in my light and now it looks kind of... burned?

Jolene Sweeney
2020-03-16 12:52:23

Riika Magnus that's odd.... mine is not in a nail lamp and the model is 6-8inches from the model.

Could be because of the clear colors? I've only printed in gray but trying clear tomorrow

Rigo Arevalo
2020-03-16 12:52:35

I never heat, if I go from the printer directly to the ultrasonic (3-5mins max) the supports come right off

Riika Magnus
2020-03-16 12:53:55

Jolene Sweeney mine was right there.

Riika Magnus
2020-03-16 12:54:36

Rigo Arevalo I was just doing the test print so no supports to deal with. But thanks for the info!!

Jolene Sweeney
2020-03-16 12:54:56

Mmmm can't help much on that! My light is purple ?

Riika Magnus
2020-03-16 12:56:17

Jolene Sweeney mine is a purple 405nm light, I think my camera just messed with the exposure.

Jolene Sweeney
2020-03-16 12:58:25

Riika Magnus oh ok! I bought this one from Amazon

3D Printer UV Resin Curing Light... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0834N3Z2L......

Rigo Arevalo
2020-03-16 13:03:24

I have that and really like it

Riika Magnus
2020-03-16 13:05:56

Rigo Arevalo Jolene Sweeney good to know about that one, I ordered some UV Led strip lights to put in a curing box I’m going to build once everything gets here. But I’m just not sure if the lights are really going to be UV 405nm, so nice to know of a backup.

Rigo Arevalo
2020-03-16 13:06:43

Yellowing is from “over curing” but some resins will get clear over time. It’s difficult getting a clear to stay clear after printing, but there are some newer resins that claim to stay clearer during curing and beyond

Riika Magnus
2020-03-16 13:07:37

Rigo Arevalo LOL, I had the think in there for 4 mins. Didn’t realize that would be to long. But good to learn now!

Riika Magnus

Kwok Tony it looks fine to me in person. Maybe it’s just the pic?

I have this same one and love it so far

Luke Mason
2020-03-16 16:54:40

Mine is leave the house loud ?

Riika Magnus
2020-03-16 17:16:51

Luke Mason I have a hearing aid in one ear and as soon as I turn on the cleaner it goes crazy and I have to take it out of my ear.

Michael Fairley
2020-03-16 18:31:42

Riika Magnus you can leave prints going for long periods of time, but they can become brittle. Clear resins turn yellow quickly. Try putting it in a clear container of water while curing to help also.

Richard Humble
2020-03-16 19:15:29

I just fill it with hot water from the tap. It takes ages to warm up otherwise

John Vickers
2020-03-16 19:37:27

I've just tried my new cure & wash station & IMO it's the bees knees!

Micah Vestal
2020-03-16 23:20:45

I don't mess with the heater on mine. Be careful, because it probably doesn't have any logic at all - if you forget to turn off the heater, it won't shut off. After all the water evaporates, you have a fire hazard. It almost happened to me once and I'm pretty careful about stuff like that. Luckily I was home and noticed before it was a serious problem.

Riika Magnus
2020-03-17 01:10:08

Micah Vestal good to know, I didn’t even think of that.

Riika Magnus
2020-03-17 01:10:44

John Vickers I looked at that, but it cost more than the Zero so I couldn’t justify it.

Jim Nelson
2020-03-17 01:43:00

Unless I remember to turn the heater on beforehand (that's about a 50/50 proposition) I never have the patience to wait.

Ok so I could use some help.... initially print went off perfect. Print 2... power goes out... after that prints fail with this weird square raft. Releveled bed, updated firmware to elegoo mars “A”, new resin, new fep, new flash drive.... and... even worse... ideas? I saw this wicked dragon printed on the Photon group page earlier and had to try it. I decided to hollow it out and print it using Hero resin since it is perfect for these type of prints.
If you want to try it out you can get it here... https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-wurm-96413

So new question: I recently had resin get into my print bed assembly. I disassembled it and cleaned it thoroughly. Now I've been trying to get the bed leveled again. I tried the standard method(which I used up to now with great success), and it was fail after fail. I tried the Flint Reed method, and have had some success.

This leads me to my current problem. My bed is leveled and zeroed via the Flint Reed method. The problem is that prints seem to stick fine to the build plate on the left and right, but nothing seems to stick to the middle.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to what is going on here?

Evening ladies and gents :-)

Got a bit of a problem. Yesterday did a 12 hour print no problem, today I changed the fie (some items the same as yesterday) and three/four layers in the printer turned itself off and then back on again. Obviously the printing had stopped. Tried it again after cleaning the bed ad checking the resin bath and the same thing happened. Asking here for any advice before doing anymore to the machine.

Thanks in advance :-)

HELP!
TL;DR I'm getting weird rogue artifacts when I try and print small things, but RERF prints work just fine.
Printer: Photon S Resin: Siraya Tech Fast (White) Settings: (Below)
I did a RERF test print (the Ameralabs Town by nipunawg on Thingiverse) and found an exposure that worked well.
Then when I tried to print a small chair (1:96 / 1/8"=1' scale) I get unknown prints along the Y-axis. (photo below)
I ran my file through Photon File Validator, and nothing was off. I included a photo from Chitubox to show my supports.
I thought it might be USB or hardware issues but my RERF prints do just fine. I have tried printing in .photon and .photons and both give the same result.
Any help would be appreciated! 翻譯年糕

First proper print on my resin printer and this is the result, the supports were almost falling off in the anycubic wash and cure. Supports and model created by my friend and mentor Mark Wardle . Thank you Mark for all your support

I've been having issues with Resin curing on the supports and underside of the model with the supports, I'm using clear resin. I think I'm either keeping the vat too full, too long exposure on my resin (its clear so uv light will diffuse through the print) or I need to add something to my print set up to keep the resin in the vat warmer
