Hello to all! I would like to know your opinion on the deactivation of the fan on the Photon, I saw that it is possible to disable it to avoid the smell of resin in the room, it is that there is no risk of overheating for electronics? most competitors' machines do not have a fan, so I'm wondering what it can do ... it would save me from making a box
Thanks for your help

UPDATE:

I changed the resin to Anycubic Black. I also formatted the USB stick. One(or both) of these two things seem to have solved the issue.

Has anyone ever seen it do this? Software or hardware?

the first print failed when the screen printed an entire layer as a solid rectangle. when the print was finished the rectangle was stuck to the fep. it was like at a certain point the printer just printed a full exposure of the entire screen and never lifted out of the vat. I tried again on the second print, with a modified version and it looks like it printed a solid rectangle and didn't lift correctly the build plate out of the vat. It printed basically a solid block of resin.

I've reformated the usb stick, and i'm doing a new test print. I'm slicing in Chitubox and i've done more than 10 litres of resin in the past few months without issue.

I did a test of the first layer and it seems to expose correctly, so i'll give it another go and see what happens.

To me it seems like software failing, the screen is exposing correctly and the motor seems to move correctly.

I've put a lot of hours on this machine, but i've never seen anything like this before honestly.

Any thoughts?

Alright everyone, please excuse my tiny rant that is about to come.

On the daily do I read posts and comments by users in this group and other groups, stating that certain issues, topics or methods "will always be there", "cannot be solved", "will always be like this" or "cannot be done". Be it supports that won't leave pock marks, intial layers without horizontal expansion, printing parts that need a lot of strength, printing perfectly transparent parts, adding glittering dye to resin or tuning the printer to do certain things and unlock features, to name a few. I know these comments are with no ill intent, but in a community that is mostly about empowering each other's ideas and literally making things, I feel like regularly seeing this "pessimism" and the construction of these mental borders is slowly killing me on the inside. You all literally have a machine standing somewhere near you, that creates objects out of virtually nothing! A little, affordable, miracle box that turns whatever you imagine into a real life object. This is unbelievable! Getting to this point took decades of innovation and the realization of numerous ideas that "could not be done".

So if I have a plea for you all here, then be it that please, let us all keep an open mind about innovation that can come from this community in improving our machines, prints, methods and workflow. "It cannot be done" is something I wish to no longer be reading in the comments here, I hope we can all come together on this.

Thanks for reading my short rant, I will now regain control of myself again.

I’m not happy with some ‘blobbyness’ I’m getting on the ‘upper’ (when in the machine) surface of my prints around the supports - the side facing the resin bath is always great, but I’m losing definition on the other side, and getting ‘ramps’ into the supports...any ideas?

Anybody let jobs start at night and not worry about clean up until the following day? I guess what I'm asking is, is there any danger from the machinery or with the resin (outside of a print fail) that would cause issues if the print sat on the bed and the leftover resin in the vat for a few hours with the machine still on but the print complete?

Lol ok I might have spoken a bit early :)

This is the motherboard they sent me. I own a Photon S and the power and USB ports are on seperate sides of the machine yet on the motherboard they are both in the same side.

Has any one with a Photon S replaced their motehr board is this the correct one I simply don't wish to dismantle the machine and then find, as it's all in bits, it's the wrong motherboard.
