Hi all, I was curious to know what slicing program any Photon-S users use. Currently i use the default slicer.

Also i am curious to knoe if anyone has used ESun, Sparkmaker or Crealty resin with there machine. I currently use Anycubic for my resin needs.

I am asking about these specific companies as i work in China most of the year and they are readily available and moderately priced.

I am sorry if this has been asked before, as i did a search in the group and could not find anyrhing for the Photon-S. Thank you for your time all.

Thought I’d share progress on my current print project. It’s the Nier : Automata machine lifeform. The original is based on the Bring Arts figure, but I will be modelling expansion packs to create different variants from the game.

Modelled in Modo, sliced in Chitubox and printed with 90% Anycubic orange/10% Monocure Flex.

Has anybody else had their 2K screen die after 4 prints or just due to time?

I got my Photon 11 months ago with a screen that was dead on arrival. Anycubic sent me a replacement that worked for 4 prints before I got busy and started just using my FDM printers. 10 months later, I tried to print again and got a big solid block of cured resin as though the screen wasn't masking at all. Doing the LCD test show this screen is now dead too...

What I'm wondering is: Is it possible that it died just sitting there or is there something else wrong with my machine that is killing the screen?

So I've been doing some thinking recently and noticed how many people lament the inability to see whether a print has failed until after it clears the top of the vat....sometimes wasting hours just to find a solid clump of resin at the bottom. I've seen a few people here talk of wishing to be able to see their part through the vat. I'm an aerospace engineer and ex machinist so coming up with, and making, a replacement vat wouldn't be particularly difficult. I wanted to poll the community to see if there is any interest in a replacement vat that would allow you to see the print at all stages and, if so, what the preferred method would be. The two options I have currently are: an aluminum vat, similar to what we have now, that has a window of some sort cut into the side. Obviously it would be well sealed and allow for easy viewing. Alternatively, a clear plastic replacement vat (think: the formlabs vat but with our vats design). Would have metallic threads for the fep frame and need to be made of something/coated with something that would prevent a permanent bond between it and cured resin/strong enough to not be damaged when trying to remove stuck on resin.
Thanks to anyone who weighs in with their opinion.

Hello fellow Photon people!
Finally caved in and got myself a Photon about a week and a half ago and as a scale modeller it's a fantastic tool to have! I'm printing 0.020 stuff virtually ready to go for 1/35 scale! :D

I do however have one problem and that's when I print larger parts, like busts, twice the print bed has tilted backwards which has resulted in rather weird prints...
The first time it happened I printed a really large solid bust and I figured it was the weight that caused it, but it happened again last night with a much smaller bust?!

As an engineer and tinkerer of anything mechanical and machinable I know the limit of aluminium threads so I've tightened the print bed gimbal tight, but not to the point of causing fatigue. I've just had it apart to eye over all the parts in the print bed but everything seems fine and it should be proper contact on the whole sphere in the gimbal. (I basically checked for burrs or other defects that could make tightening problematic)
I've now tightened it as hard as I dare with aluminium and will try again but before I do I thought I'd ask here if this is a common problem or if it's just my printer that needs some tinkering?

I've got an idea using a thin rubber sheet in the gimbal to secure it better when tightening it, but that's more of a last resort since it can bring unwanted effects too, like way harder to level it...

Amazing what technology $385 gives you! I'm still really surprised every time I finish a print of some scale model details!!! This is more than I hoped for 10 years ago - and now I have it at a fraction of the money I spent back then!!!

Many thanks in advance!

Purchased these interchangeable plastic blade knifes on Amazon and I must say they work a treat on the Photon build plate. The scraper that comes with the machine is pretty useless. If like me you want to maintain the original surface of the build plate without scratching it, I highly recommend this purchase!
