Ok, I've searched the group and didn't find a conclusive answer... Is elegoo "ABS like rapid resin" any different from some hypothetical "standard" resin? Every bottle I've ordered of "abs rapid", always says "standard" on the bottle. (not rapid). The pictures on elegoo website show bottles labelled "standard" as well but in the product title it says "rapid". I read in one post that elegoo only has one type... So what's the deal here? The resin settings spreadsheet seems to differentiate between rapid and standard. ? ? ?

Has it been your experience that the Anycubic Maroon resin is kind of trash?

I've had my Photon for a year and have printed a bajillionty things no problem. I have had the Photon S for a few months and similarly, no problem. I typically use AC grey but also have used E-sun yellow PLA, E-sun clear, AC Green, Siraya Tenacious, and so on. No problems.

I have absolutely *not* been able to coax good results out of the AC Maroon on either printer.

On the Photon S, all the prints start to peel off a corner of the plate no matter how many bottom layers and exposure. I'm up to like 6 bottom layers / 80 seconds and 13 seconds regular exposure (which is way overexposed) and it still peels (see attached). Note I am not using a raft, it just kind of looks like it because I placed the parts close - but the problems happen either close or widely separated.

On the OG Photon, it does a little better - because I can use the resin exposure test I dialed it in just right to 12 seconds. Even still, some of the parts literally separated mid-print (that part that peeled up is not supposed to have done that, it's a hollow box).

These are parts that are properly hollowed and drain hole-d!

Is the Maroon just trash resin?

Hey guys,

So I bought a brand new photon a few days ago and it has been acting extremely weird.

My first day having it, it ran a print absolutely fine. A large one at that. The second time around, the build plate would not stop homing towards the screen upon starting a print.

Today this happens. Right before I started the print, I did a ton of photonsters testing for exposure settings. I 100% put it back into print mode. Later on I eventually started an actual print. Hours later Im greeted with this, however its still printing fine lol

What is happening

So trying to decide between the photon and photon S. Not worried about price difference or what the case is made of. I care more about reliability abs print quality. Planning to do taller prints.

Hey guys could use some advice. So I ran the ameralabs test and found Im over exposing by a lot (currently at 18sec exposure time). So I ran this test and found that 14 seconds would probably work best judging by the photonsters test.

My question is, how do I determine the rest of the exposure settings for the slicer like bottom exposure time, off time, bottom layers, etc?

Finally got 2L of Elegoo grey resin and tonight I am going to do my 1st test print (exposure test). I've noticed the box says it's ABS like. How strong the final parts will be? I've also bought Siraya blu resin but did not use it yet - are these comparable or totally different when it comes to printing functional parts?

I read a post the other day in this group from a Photonster who prints the Ameralabs ‘Town’ test print to test out each batch of resin- thought I’d give it a whirl, so entered my email address at the Ameralabs website & downloaded the STL files (there are 3 variants). I loaded the STL straight into Chitubox for slicing and have to confess, I thought it would be bigger ? . I am impressed with the level of detail printed with it this small, but I don’t think it’s right ! For those who print this.... should it be bigger ?
