I am new member and tomorrow will have my first Photon printer. I see pinned post with basic and important info about photon and how to print. Can you tell me what I need to 3d print like extra upgrades? Atm I am 3d printing save resin platform bracket and Vat Drip Bracket on my fdm printers.
I will start printing using ELEGOO LCD UV 405nm ABS-Like Rapid 3D Resin grey and will be grateful for any tips and settings for this resin.
I am thinking about making enclosure for this printer to take fumes out but not sure what fan to use and PSU for running the fan. Is it so bad smell or it is because safety? I will keep it in room for 3d printers.
Also can you tell me how loud is when printing? Can I run at night ?

Had my photon for a few months, but never actually done an exposure test :/
I know :(

So last night I ran the X3mSnake exposure test.

To be completely honest, I'm pretty lost with it.

I ran resin-test-50u.B100.2-20.photon and the result is the attached photo.
I followed the instructions, set my exposure, then printed the AmeraLabs Town test, but came out horrendously overexposed.
So despite following what I thought were idiotproof instructions, I still manage to mess up :(

I had 10 marked as the sweetspot.
So with that, I set the exposure to 20 for the AmeraLabs test, but as I say, horrendously overexposed.
When I set it to 20, I was thinking "Seems a bit high, but this bit of resin can't be wrong can it? I'll go along with that!"

After the first town test was over exposed I brought it down a bit. Reprinted. Oh. Nothing on the build plate at the end. Maybe I somehow had cured resin in the vat.
Cleaned the vat out, set it away again. Nope. Nothing on the build plate again.

Although, looking back at the X2MSnake test again, I definitely feel that I messed up.
Am I right in now thinking that 7 is the sweet spot on this test?

I'm lost :P

Hello guys. I have a problem with my Photon S. The FEP film is stick to the display. Do you have any idea why? With anycubic resin it was everithing OK, Now I have Harz labs model white. Curing time after test is 5 seconds for 50 um. It is possoble that the resin is faster and heating??? Thanks

I would like to make some mechanical parts. What resins are reasonably strong? I would like to print parts that I used to make out of CPVC and ABS.

Hello community, any Elegoo resins consumers here?

just a dumb question: does your prints also have this "opaque" effect? It's Elegoo ABS-like Red, washed in IPA in ultrasonic cleaner, dryed with compressed air and cured for half an hour per side but I don't like this matt effect ?

Photonsters PTC Heater Unit Safety problem. So in the Nutshell, I ordered the 150W heater and other required parts to build the Heater unit. My Fan was wired backwards (as received, Black Fan wire on mine is actually the positive lead) which revealed a potential serious fire hazard. Since my fan was not spinning, the heater unit within 30 seconds heated up to the point of the smell of burning plastic (I quickly unplugged it and reversed the Fan's wires and the fan operated normally). As currently designed, it would appear that a failure of the Fan to spin (no airflow) will cause the heater block to quickly overheat. How hot??? I don't know, but this could be a big fire hazard? I personally will be incorporating a thermal fuse into my heater block to correct this oversight in design. The thermal fuse will of course blow if the Heater blocks Temperature nears something just under 200F/104C as ABS nears it's glass transition temperature near 221F/93C. Has this Heater block thermal runaway issue been covered before???

This is my first post here.
After 6 years of FDM/ABS printing with fair and predictable results I bought a Photon S in order to experience a differen kind of 3d printing..
The first prints went pretty well (needing to learn different concept of "supports"). I used the Anycubic Green and Red resin (translucid) and the Elegoo ABS like resin and all the 3 resins didn't present big problems.
A different story is about the Dental NON Castable PINK resin by Anycubic because I wasn' able to get any print but I got only the supports when I was lucky.
I searched the web for this specific resin but I wasn't able to find explanation from other user.
I did only 3 attempts killing a FEP too but it seems I'm pretty far from a positive result.
Question: is the dental non castable pink resin by Anycubib so different?
I noticed it needs shorter exposure times but should I need to learn some trick and tip for this specific resin?

Guys, I have a bottle *Phrozen ABS like Grey* which is on a journey to become my favorite resin. *However* , after a few days w/o usage the pigment settle in the basin. Like, really settling.
My question: what am I supposed to do if I wanna print something? The pigment is on the bottom, clear resin floating on top.
"Shaking" is not possible for obvious reasons, tilting it for minutes back an fourth does nothing.

How am I supposed to use that now? :(
