Hi Every one.

It took me a while to get to it but have just tried to 3DM ABS Black.
Still having issues with the Photon, the screen is now flickering / jumping.
So I printed on my Phrozen Shuffle - did a Harz Labs test /calibration print, perfect first time.
Settings: 6 x 60sec btm and 8sec normal 40u (microns)
I think I could even reduce the exposures a fraction.
I have some parts printing now (overnight) will post photos tomorrow.
It's not he cheapest resin but I am happy I got it.
Water wash-up, UV stable (for outdoor use).

At work I manage a pretty awesome team of designers and illustrators. They are some of the best people I have EVER worked with. This year my teamlead and I are presenting them each a medal, based on a personality quirk or activity thing they do. I also made one for my boss, his is the one with the Fez. All were designed in illustrator, Modeled in Maya, and printed flat on the bed. Printed in Phrozen ABS Gray, airbrushed in Vallejo Black primer, and dry brushed with various shades of Vallejo Alcohol metallic paints.

Hello Photon owners. I'm wondering what your collective experiences are with the limits of resolution in the x-y plane using this printer? I'm currently printing a lot of things in ABS that have the general form of lots of vertically-oriented crosses regularly arranged in small containers. I have little benchies that roughly look like the attached picture--combinations of progressively thinner and progressively closer together crosses. In the final designs, the holding containers will be cubic, and the crosses will be the full height of each container. In practice, I'm getting about 1 mm thickness and ~0.5 mm proximity as the max resolution with our printer at work. What might I expect with a resin based printer like this? Thanks in advance for your advice. ? ?

Test print - please pardon the subject - it's for a friend. Also, please pardon the poor camera work.

Phrozen ABS-Like Resin. 12 sec. .03mm step. Approx 20c. The crispest detail I've gotten from a resin yet. Even better than Monocure Rapid Black, and that's saying something. It doesn't show in the photo, but the moire pattern on the top of the octopus's body is clean and crisp.

I'm absolutely gobsmacked at what this machine can do. Printed out 6 lattice cubes as a test, all of different sizes. The smallest one failed but it was literally a pixel width I'm guessing. Out of this world quality and a cool little trinket

i am absolutely unable to get 99% IPA in Alaska because it's classified as "hazmat" and everyone thinks the only way to ship things here is by plane and somehow completely ignore that ground shipping and sea freight are a thing. what else could i use for cleaning my prints? is 70% IPA alright?

ironically, i can get acetone in 5 gallon buckets

Photocentric3D UV DLP High Tensile

Having heard a lot of bad things about Photocentric3D resins, I decided to give it a try - to my knowledge it's by far the strongest resin on the market.

I need the strength since my parts are a landing gear for a fast 3.5 kg model aircraft.

I was very sceptical because of many negative comments about Phtocentric3D resins on this board.

Settings:
0.05mm/35 sec/2 sec/55 sec/10 bottom layers
20 deg C.

Result:
Hardly any smell, the parts can be cleaned in clear water, cure time I've tried so far is 20 minutes under UV light.
IPA cleaning only needed at the very end to remove some minor surface tack that remained after curing. I would use this resin in my living room.

Very, very strong, very hard surface (after curing it's nearly impossible to cut), yet slightly flexible, not brittle at all. A lot stronger (35% more tensile strength) and more rigid than the PA12 that I used for the same parts when I ordered them from Shapeways.

Takes a long time to print, of course (3:45 hours for the part shown). Very easy to remove from the platform. No measurable shrinking. Hole diameter very precise, even for deep 1.5mm holes.

The attached pictures are my first attempot with that resin.
They speak for themselves. The smallest details have a depth of 0.15 mm.

My opinion about that resin: Absolutely perfect.

I just ordered my Photon, and know absolutely nothing about resin printing. It says it has a UV light. Do I still need a separate UV light for curing?
