So test one was somewhat a successful print.. I got one of my rings to easily prong set one of my faceted stones.. again test and of course gotta cast .. in gonna see how the resin changes over the next 2 weeks. .. too many jewelers charging to much to set gemstones .. I buy and facet my stones .. I'll print and cast my own rings

Greetings. Having had my Photon for a couple of month now, and having had successful prints and failed prints, I’m feeling a bit more confident and wanting to get the correct settings for my exposure rather than take defaults or work by trial and error. I’ve read the resin-xpfinder from GitHub and just want to make sure I have understood the instructions correctly. It looks like I have to change the config of the printer , print my resin test, and then return the printer to ‘print’ mode. Can u pls tell me if I have got this correct...

Step 1) load the file ‘test-mode.gcode’ onto the USB stick and run it (by selecting from the screen on the printer.
Step 2) run my exposure test file , resin-test-xxx from the USB stick
Step 3) Return the printer to print mode by running print-mode.gcode from the USB stick

Have I got this correct ?
Is there any chance my printer will not return to its present state when I bring it back to print mode ?

Thanks in advance

Does anyone have another way to get the photon s resin settings?
I have the normal photon google excel doc but the link to the photon s doc isn’t working anymore and I can’t find it anywhere.

I’m giving a try with the Anycubic grey resin that I see such get details with but haven’t a clue as to the slicer settings in chitubox for it (besides the photon google doc)

Hi. I have been printing with my new Photon S for about a week - new to everything so learning all at once, including cad. This is the size range that I am working in - ruler for scale - making stamps/molds to use with fine clays. I am able to print raised lines with no issue, but all of my small details that are negative/indented are lost. Cleaning is not an issue - while I can see a vague tracing of the lines that should be there, the resin in the recesses is cured. (IPA, scrubbing, ultrasonic cleaner). Included a screenshot of slicer - this was one of the longer exposure times I tried for green.

I am printing directly onto the plate - have tried different thicknesses, up to about 4mm. Indented areas are supposed to be 1-1.5mm deep. I have fiddled with the exposure times according to the suggestions here & on the spreadsheets. Switched from anycubic green to anycubic grey for a couple of days (hated the grey, had even less success, so switched back to green). I also like that I can see what is happening with the clay through the translucent resin.

Excuse the breakage - I have canned air on the way which I have seen is helpful for removal from plate. And if it matters, my test print was perfect, bed leveling has not been an issue thus far. Temp 18-21c.

Super frustrated seeing all the amazing prints here with fine detail & not being able to get a simple line! Thanks in advance for your helpful suggestions.

Almost a full week of printing..... this is my first 500ml bottle worth of minis. Only a few support issues but not fails since the first day.

Anycubic Photon S
Anycubic Gray
Layer Height: .05 (did one at .03 but didn’t see much difference)
Bottom layer: 6
Exposure: 14s
Bottom Exposure: 100s
Light off delay: 1s
Temp in house: 70f/21c

Oriented and initial supports on auto in Prusa (75% density). Edited all bad supports that would cause errors and added more as needed. Exported with supports into Chitubox.

Verified any missing supports again, hollow (as needed for bigger items) and holes (as needed).

I have heard that the Photon S has lower exposure times than the regular Photon. Does this mean the spreadsheet is unreliable for the Photon S? I'm seeing for Anycubic Grey at 0.2 layer height they report from 10.5s - 12s. Yet in other posts here, people report as low as 4s. (I did read about the R_E_R_F test but I'm at a loss how to interpret it, if I were to print it.) 翻譯年糕

I did a search and couldn't find anything, so here's a new post for it. This has happened a few times now, though the first 2-3 I attribute to a nearly, but not quite, level plate. Now that I've have 4 successful prints with no issues, I think it's something else. Exposure times or something for such delicate lines. But I ask the collective: why didn't my arms print? ?

PS~ Don't judge my messy desk or the fact that I didn't bother cleaning them up.

Anyone want to help a resin noob out? I can't get my test cube to work right. It seems like it mostly works, but once it reaches the corner where the "Photon" diagonal band starts, it gets totally messed up. I canceled it once I noticed the issue. I'm using the yellow Eco plant based resin (which is what Anycubic gave me with my order since the default resin was out of stock, apparently). I believe this print was at 8s exposure, but I tried slicing one at 10s and it had the same issue. I think it may be either a room temperature issue, or a leveling issue. Any clues from you wonderful people? Thanks!

Update. After doing my first print yesterday using elegoo grey as my printer didn’t come with any resin and it failed, I bought some Anycubic green off amazon which turned up today and I ran it again and it printed perfectly so the failure must of been exposure numbers. Thanks for all who helped ?

Hi all, first time printer here... I've set everything up this afternoon, and am using the Anycubic Black resin that came with my printer. I've used Chitubox to set it up using the settings from the google docs. I set:

Exposure Time: 7.0

Bottom Exposure Time : 90.0

and left everything else as is.

Started out well and made it about 45% done, and it looks like it's snapped off right at the base. I'm a total newbie to this, so any help is much appreciated! One variable I think is that it's quite chilly in the room with the window open for ventilation. Is there anything else I should be looking at?

Thanks!
