Hi Guys, looking for some advice.
I cant set the z level after leveling my printer. The button doesnt beep the window confirm the new z level just disappears.
Ive tried upgrading the firmware but no luck.
the problem is as i cant set the z level prints dont stick the the platform.

Has anyone seen this before?

Hi, one of my printers has started acting up again.

I have 2 Photon printers. Both are around the same age but the one that gives me issues from time to time is a month older. I set it up this year in January. I started having issues with it a week or so ago where every time that I printed something I’d have to clean the resin vat. There was always some sort of artifact in there stuck to the FEP film. So in between prints I’d drain the vat, scrape off anything that needed to be scraped off, cleaned with IPA and started a new print.

I decided yesterday I’d check the FEP tension as there were some screws on the bottom that looked loose. I found the tension was at about 190hz to I tightened to around 300hz and printed again last night.

Needless to say my print was not good. ?

Seems like I had these issues before and I swapped out the FEP film and everything went back to normal. I can try that again but wanted to see if anyone had any other ideas.

As you can see in the pics there is a lot of extra resin everywhere (especially near the bottom) but I am still getting some nice crisp details. That picture with the space ships the middle model is pretty much destroyed.

Both my printers print the same files. They are on the same firmware and right next to each other.

I do plan on swapping out the film tonight but wanted to see if anyone else had any ideas. Is it normal that the FEP becomes looser after use?

Good day,

I just tried to update the firmware of my Photon to 4.2.19. I pressed the update.LCD on the screen. i was hearing some beeping and then the screen turned off. Now whenever i try to turn on the printer with or without the usb stick, only the red light of the axis is turning on. The screen is dead. Any tips?

First printer, first issue.
Got a brand new photon, not a fauxton, nor a S.
The chinese USB stick, doesn't work right of the bat. Nor on the photon nor on my laptop.

I bought a new stick, reformated to FAT32 and added the lattice cube file directly from Anycubic website.

I tried to print the file and thats where the fun begin.
The printer froze and restarted just after the first layer.
I updated the firmware from V4.2.14 to V4.2.18.
And the problem repeated itself a second and third time.
Close the whole thing and went for a walk.

What do I do now?

Hello, I need help with my photon. It seems to be pausing in itself during midprint(50-60% completion), then stops the printing when I try to resume the print. The buildplate rises halfway the z axis. It did the same thing for 3 consecutive times now on 3 different files. All settings used in the printer worked before and I have no levelling issues. My prints are usually 10hrs+ and my 3months printer has the updated firmware. Anyone else encountered this issue?

New Photon came with firmware 4.2.17 and a sanded build plate. Is this an Original or a Fauxton? If it is an original looks like they are shipping with sanded build plates now.

Hi all, I am sorry to keep posting on the same topic but I am at a loss. I have had my photon for 15 months. No issues. I have printed literally hundreds of minis (300+) never had any real issues. However I "paused" a print and the machine kept going. I stopped the print. Cleaned up the mess, tried again. Fans wouldn't start (even after powering off etc). I was told to flash the firmware with the latest version. I am using the standard photon with no upgrades. So I went to the 4.2.19 version. Fan started working again but now my prints will not work at all. I get phantom printing on the sides of the print. I made sure via the normal tests that the UV light is working, I leveled the bed (a few times), set the zero height (a few times) and I still get arbitrary printing in areas that are outside my models print area, as well as attached to it. non of the extra printing is on the preview. I made sure my glass under the vat is clean with no debris, I have changed and tuned my FEP. I still get the same problem

To add to my woes, I decided to try out the new Photon Workshop V2. Noticed that when trying to add supports it does a really bad job of calculating supports automatically, and it does not show like the standard slicer where supports are needed. Have a look at the pic, how is this rook stress test going to print with this few supports. I have totally lost my confidence now which is causing me to second guess everything. Any help without bashing would be appreciated. I know I am trying to solve too many problems at one time but I am at a total loss. Also, if someone could attach the original test file (the cube on the stand) that would be appreciated. Somehow I lost it.

hey guys, I haven't used my anycubic photon in over a year for personal reasons (moved houses etc..) and now getting back to it. Anyone can give me a recap of what i've missed? New firmware i NEED to get? new slicer? On the system page of my photon it reads System: Photon 5.5 and Version 4.0.11_LCD

guys just asking , for Mac users .... how do you all unzip the bin file for the firware update ???..... cant find a solution or a way to unzip that file for the firmware update for Photon
