Quick question..Why does a Photon mess up prints when you change Resin,I went from one bottle of Grey to another(same brand) and all i've had is failed prints. The main issue is prints not sticking to the build plate.

Things i've done are as follows

Shook the resin

Cleaned and leveled Build plate(paper and Reed method)..Multiple times

Cleaned Vat

Upped Exposure times

Lowered exposure times

Bought a new build plate(same results)

Swore a lot

threatened the machine with violence

Tried a black resin

I've had some parts stuck to the vat, then had parts that stay on the build plate but were warped.

I have noticed that when i level with paper that i have less tension on one side(yes i've loosened the grub screw and flattened the build plate)

I've had a month of real good printing,so i'm getting pissed off now,any help would be cool

Sorry cos a quick question became a essay.

If pics are needed i can upload some tomorrow

Thanks Guys

I was really impressed by a post on here by Richard Humble with some great tips which also included using the black AnyCubic resin.
https://m.facebook.com/groups/1194619320682708?view=permalink&id=1899230720221561

I took all of his advice, including the long print time (17 hours) and have been so happy with the results on this Baby Yoda.
The black resin is much thinner than the white I was sent with the printer, resulting in a much crisper, harder detail. This isn't the largest model in the world (available through CGTrader - and a lovely model too) but the improvement in the overall detail is VERY noticeable. Really happy how it turned out.
Thanks for the advice, Richard. It's made a huge improvement to my enjoyment of 3D printing. Anyone reading this, take the advice, you won't look back.

For all friends of 3D printing and those who want to become friends.

Sven B. from the „Point Blank Game“ community alias Sven Barracuda or Barracuda72 took the effort to provide some free compatible markers for PBG as files (STL) via Thingi.

General PBG markers:

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3898385

Number marker for units:

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3926564

If you don't have your own 3d printer, there are often extremely cheap workshops at colleges and universities that allow you to print the files. Otherwise there are many commercial 3D printing services.

The information is already a few days old, but there are some who didn't notice it.

Thanks a lot Sven!

By the way, there will be a free PBG event in Braunschweig Germany with a huge playing table (about 16x2 meters!). Date: 20.06.2020 10:00 am and end of 21.06.2020 04:00 pm

Hi folks! I made this present for a colleague researcher. It’s a printed dome with a word cloud of all his research papers. I put the dome on top of a small led platform from amazon, but the result was not nice. So I had to design an adapter to blend the led platform (squared) with the dome. And this is the final result. I feel so artist ? ? . I thank this group for all the tips you give!

Printing a Hero Forge Mini... For a friend. I'm sorta newish to the Photon, having a few successful printed minis under my belt. I've watched many great instructional videos on settings and support placements... BUT my buddy provided me with a hero forge STL that has the base and wizard robes so close that I'm not 100% sure how to support them without making a mess...

Any pro tips? With one of my examples, I made supports on the bottom of the base, then edited them to extend through the base to the bottom of the cloak.. it's hard to see exactly what I was doing... Any help (ideas) would be greatly appreciated.

I get those lines in the prints and I cant get rid of them. I printed maybe 50 times with this printer, so its not heavily used.

On the left is the first print. very heavy lines. I thought Z wobble or weak supports. So I watched the Z Wobble "fix" and did everything mentioned. No wobble there. The printer is perfectly leveled on a table. I releveled the bed. added bigger supports.

- 0.05
- Hollow, 1.5mm wall thickness
- Inner and outer supports (as seen on pictures)
- Antialiasing 4x
- Z Wobble "fix"
- multiple vent holes. 2 at the bottom at the build plates and 1 on top of the model.

Clearly the version with the 40° angle is the best, the lines are only in the back noticable, which would be fine, but I cant rotate everything like this in this project.

Any ideas what I could try? 翻譯年糕
