OK I know I'm new to resin printers but in all seriousness with fdm I can see a failure in 5 min. Reset and be good how do you the pros in here know it is working and can walk away and not wait for 1 hr or so to look at build plate while it lifts up and then see its failed. I don't wanna waste time if it's bad. Any pro tips. CN I. Somehow edit gcode or equivalent to in 5 min lift up to viable height then let me inspect and then continue? Or am I asking too much of such a low cost printer? I'm sure I can't be only one who has had this question.

Anyone have tips for making resin more indestructible? Or reliable information on the subject? So far I’ve only used resin, no additives, but I’m making a clip that needs to not snap or crumble. Anyone have any tips on removing prints from the build plate? I've not used my photon for about 2 or 3 months and quickly levelled it yesterday sbd printed something, may have put the z a bit too low as I just can not remove these prints at all. Thanks.

hey guys, what's the best postion to print small miniatures in? doing space mariens pretty much and want to get smoother pads if i can, i hear printing on the 45 degree is optimal for flat objects, is this true with helmets, torsos and shoulder pads? thanks! also general tips for printing wargaming stuff is appreciated, using elegoo's standard grey resin.

Started having this issue recently. Same file different results. Printed multiple times. Different results everytime. So ive checked the file to make sure its solid. That doesnt seem to be the issue. Some prints all result in this picture on the left. Seems like the best way to discribe is as if the plate is moving mid print resulting in the layers to shift side to side. But i dont beleive thats the case. When printing the same slice some parts print fine while others have this issue. Thought maybe it was a slicer issue but the results are never the same with the same slice. Any help would be much appreciated.

What should I be trying to fix? I've had multiple bad prints where I have the same model oriented differently side by side on the bed. One prints fine, the other prints the support lattice and then never finishes the model.

I've re-leveled a few times and still every print has been one complete model, one support structure.

Right now I'm trying to print a full plate of stuff. Next I'll try the same model several times to see if it's just bad slicing. But any other ideas on what to test?

Hi Guys, I try to print some parts for my modeltrains. I noticed that the last print isn't as 'solid' as it should be. When I take a closer look to the layer viewer, i noticed some triangle shaped 'holes' in it. On the picture, you see the upper and lower part is the most solid, but the 2 parts in the middle has some triangle shape through it although the 4 parts are exactly the same. Because of that, my parts are missing some material on some layers. Somebody has tips to avoid this? I draw in Sketchup, and use the anycubic photon slicer to slice the file for the printer. Thanks in advance.

So I finally got a for real first print! Thanks to everyone for your tips! I just needed to up the exposure for the resin I was using.
I’m using a grey Anycubic resin, and I think it’s set at 14s after the base layers (8).
I was printing out some terrain for Kingdom death, and the tiles aren’t really flat... also the detail seems to be not as good as my Cr-10.
I also tried to print them flat the first time, and that failed. So I did a 15% tilt on the tiles and it did print, but not completely flat.
So I’m going to look into increasing the resolution and maybe up the exposure some? Should I add more base layers to prevent warping?

Thanks so much
(Pic of my first real print. About 5 1/2”)

Just a tip (that maybe you already know): to keep my resin warm I'm using a USB powered bottle warmer, attached to my PC.

By the way, my first print on the Photon S (the RERF test) was a fail -the second shot-... A half of the print was separated from the build plate.

I've sanded the build plate and done the leveling again... Let's see.
