Hi folks, received my photon this weekend, went straight for a personnal print, came out great.

Now i wanna try a larger print, but i have no idea how support work, what you guys use to support stuff ? Chitubox ? Auto-support ? Can i get pointed where to learn ? I've checked a couple of Youtube videos but everyone seem to have their personnals preference.

That's heavy support with Chitubox, how does that look ?

Hi guys! I've finally decided to give the Anycubic clear eco resin a go. I though I'd just try it out on a piece I knew worked in the opaque colours and then adjust from there but to my surprise the detail came out perfect first time... Well on the one side it did anyway.

Once I got the price off the plate I noticed that the supports on the back of it's head were one solid lump now. Initially I thought this just meant I needed less grouped supports for printing clear, but when I removed the ear supports which are quite spaced out I noticed there was a lumpy ridge along the back between where each support joins the model. I've tried to take some photos to show what's happening but it's difficult with the clear resin. I've included an example of a primed grey cast to show how smooth it should be.

Anyone else experienced this and got any tips to fix it? I'm unsure given how perfect the actual face and such came out ?

Pic for attention. On my original Photon after having to deal with a stripped screw that stopped me from popping off the bottom/front panel to swap out the LCD, I've finally I stalled the new LCD, and it seems to work fine but now when I went to level the build plate I cant move the build plate at all, no grinding, the rod still moves with my fingers.

Not sure what could have happened, aside from needing a new LCD it was working fine prior to the LCD swap. Tried resetting the EEPROM but still nothing when I try to move the Build plate.

Any ideas?
EDIT: Checked the motor cable, still secure on both ends.

How bad of an idea is this to print? The first file was too large so it was split in half. Is this a disaster waiting to happen?

Clearly not an ideal situation! So I guess I'm looking for a new LCD screen. Any hints on best sources for a screen in the UK? And what should I look out for in making sure I get a quality product?

Help! Forgot to put drain hole in a hollowed print, quite narrow so in theory it should print without falling off lol

Question is, does any pressure build up inside the hollow bit? As I'm debating hand drilling a hole before curing to drain. Will it basically shoot out everywhere?

Hi, one of my printers has started acting up again.

I have 2 Photon printers. Both are around the same age but the one that gives me issues from time to time is a month older. I set it up this year in January. I started having issues with it a week or so ago where every time that I printed something I’d have to clean the resin vat. There was always some sort of artifact in there stuck to the FEP film. So in between prints I’d drain the vat, scrape off anything that needed to be scraped off, cleaned with IPA and started a new print.

I decided yesterday I’d check the FEP tension as there were some screws on the bottom that looked loose. I found the tension was at about 190hz to I tightened to around 300hz and printed again last night.

Needless to say my print was not good. ?

Seems like I had these issues before and I swapped out the FEP film and everything went back to normal. I can try that again but wanted to see if anyone had any other ideas.

As you can see in the pics there is a lot of extra resin everywhere (especially near the bottom) but I am still getting some nice crisp details. That picture with the space ships the middle model is pretty much destroyed.

Both my printers print the same files. They are on the same firmware and right next to each other.

I do plan on swapping out the film tonight but wanted to see if anyone else had any ideas. Is it normal that the FEP becomes looser after use?

Im very satisfied by this easy leveling mod made by Артём Саргисон (Tom Sargison) . Never had any isues caused by bad leveling, but had one failed print with platform tilt during print procces. So now i can be confident it will never happen again.

我非常滿意這個簡單的平穩的mod由製作. 從來沒有因為糟糕的平平而造成任何isues, 但在列印過程中有一個失敗的平面傾斜. 所以現在我可以自信它永遠不會再發生.

Anycubic Photon. What could be going wrong?

Last week I installed a new LCD screen (Anycubic replacement). First prints went well, no fails. The last couple of days I had more and more failed prints: no print in the middle, no print on the left side of the bed etc.

I tried the usuals: cleaning, levelling… Today I wanted to test the printer again: test print of some head in different locations. And the results are more terrible than before.

With my old LCD screen I didn't have this problem, same resin, same settings: 0.04mm, 6s exposure, 7 bottom layer, 80s exposure.

Extra clue might be the apparent loss of detail before and after the new screen.

HELP! So lately something strange has been happening with my Photon. I start a print and at random times the printer beeps like the print is done when it isn't. I can't resume the print, so it ends up as a failed print. Sometimes it prints for just a few minutes before the beep and failed to finish print, sometimes it prints for several hours then fails. I was using Chitubox to slice, but tried using the Anycubic slicer as well and it's failed with .photon files from both slicers. My last idea is that maybe the USB stick is starting to fail on me and when it fails, it shuts down the print mid-print? Anyone else run into this issue? how did you resolve it? Thanks!
