Hey GGood afternoon guys, can someone give me an idea of why these goo are appearing on the resin table? The printing failed, it ended up not adhering to the layer, so there was a bit of this goo, but this is not the first time

So I think I might have lost my first screen today while printing made it over 6 months with the one that came with it so i guess that is pretty good. Had a print that really failed and i think that caused it to stick to much. Screen looks rather enact just removed from the location is sets and was attached to my vat. Any good videos on reattaching it? What replacement to you all recommend gonna order 1-2 regardless to have it so when it goes down I can just replace. Thanks!

Well, that FEP lasted about 4 months. I had a failed print, so I took the vat out to drain and clean, but found a layer of resin on the screen. Took me an hour to scrape it off with my fingernail. And, of course, I have no idea what I did with my extra FEP material. Amazon to the rescue!

Is anyone familiar with the Monocure Calibration Matrix? Specifically, this model? Here is my first 2 daft questions of the group - I searched and found nothing to help. I have been trying to dial in my exposure settings before trying to print again.

I can see the obvious, like when the bridge bends, rounding on the corners, the text not appearing correctly. BUT... How am I supposed to know when it is right? I can't seem to find a guide on what each test does or is it just a case of whatever one looks good go with it? The bad ones are obvious but there is 2/3 all look VERY similar

So far I seem to be having trouble getting the 'c' in ctrlv to show clearly. The notches in the bottom left also seem to be hit n miss. Printing at 0.025 layer height, variety of exposure lengths. Finally, the bottom left towers... The thin one seems to flop?

Second question - Post curing time. There seems to be a massive variance to this. Some people saying 2 mins and some leave them for hours/day. I understand size is a factor but can anyone give me a guide on say a 28mm figure under an artificial UV lamp? We don't get much sun in Scotland :(

Thanks for any advice ? ???????

So i have finaly managed to get Anycubic to share with me a document of Their Clear Green resin examination report. According to this report resin is classified as medium hazard (two out of four grades possible). That already means - "handle with caucion".
STOT classifacation as "Category 3" (This category only includes narcotic effects (dizziness, drowsiness) and respiratory tract irritation (sore throat, cough). These effects, while adversely altering human function, are of short duration after exposure, and do not result in significant alterations of structure or function following recovery.) It is not deadly but this report as little data in it. All toxicological affects are stated as "NO DATA". And it doesnt contain any recomendations on ihale protection. Only eyes and skin protection. That is very strange because they state that Inale ma cause allergica irritation and cough (wich in many cases can be severe). In My opinion this report only gives us a clue about general harazrd amount resin contains and what it is made of.

I did my own brief reserch about resin contents:
Urethane Acrylate - is safe in finished form (hard cured or in not cuired form (doesnt meant you can drink it!). BUT if heated (required temperature stated as 100celcius) it starts to produce hazardous vapors of Fenol and Phormaldeghyde that can lead to chronic poisoning. Concidering required temperature it cannot be considered very hazardous (still not 100% safe).
Acrylate monomer - Experimental and clinical studies have documented that monomers may cause a wide range of adverse health effects such as irritation to skin, eyes, and mucous membranes, allergic dermatitis, stomatitis, asthma, neuropathy, disturbances of the central nervous system, liver toxicity, and fertility disturbances.
Photoinitiator - is believed to be toxic to aquatic organisms. Releases to the environment are to be avoided. Can cause skin and breating organs irritationa nad allergic reactions (same as other contens of resin)
Must remind you that allergy is underestimated. It can be a danger to your life. Please be carefull.

So to summ things up:
Resin is not deadly if inhaled by accident. Get to fresh air and rest if you feel dizzy.
People with breating problems (astma or anything close to it) must pay extra attention to proper breating protection (use respirator advised in my guide).
As all chemicals your reaction to them can be different. Some people can suffer headaches some can have high blood pressure allergy or god knows what else.. Some wont even notice anything. We are all different!
Be smart! Wear protection. Dont test your health for nothing. Consequences can be unpredictrable. Spend extra penny to protect your and your family's health. (get a raspirator, get a cabinet or any suction vent system.

PS this post is intended as educational and for precaution. Not to scare anyone from resin printing as some said.
Yes im readdy for your rotten tomatoes. Bring them on! ?

Printed 4 minis at once. 3 of the 4 printed fine, yet this mini had a weird looking failure. Looks to me like the raft layers didn’t fully stick and started floating. It was in the front left corner of the vat. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ any ideas?

So I just got my Photon s. And I'm curious on the printing process. Can you print overnight and come back hours later to clean up the model and cure it. Will the resin be okay. Or do I need to jump on top of it as soon as it finishes. Just trying to get an idea of the time frames. And kind of trying to work printing into my schedule. Like it would be awesome if I could start a print before I go to work and come back 10 to 12 hours later and it be ready for me.

Question for those use ultrasonic cleaner and mean green/simple green. decided to finally give it a try. I used mean green/simple green long ago, but found it be sucky. Trying with ultrasonic cleaner is way better. Just general question. Do any of you heat it? How long do you normally leave it going? Been using 3 mins heated to 40c with Elegoo abs-like. Noticing some of prints even after drying still has some 'shinny' spots. Should be I leaving it longer? Also do you empty it and use uv light to cure resin in the cleaner?

X-20 Update. Hinging concern and demo.
It's my experience that previous proven technologies can lead to both simple but powerful solutions to what may at 1st look like complicated systems.
It's not that a challenge is always as important as time tested ideas!
So I will stick to the simplest of hinging tech for both the aileron's and the clamshell for the equipment Bay.
