Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » ROS

I'm so happy with Benjamin Tam's sneaky boi. Printed in Polyjuice water washable resin at 0.05mm later height with his sneaky little bros in all their sneaky glory.

Edit:

Thanks for the positive responses! To get it this clear, here's what I've done:

Slicing- do not hollow. Hollowing diffracts light passing through it (passing through 3 mediums: resin, air and resin) making the model appear more translucent.

Curing- one huge benefit of the water washable resin is that you don't need an UV light to cure which causes yellowing if your cure it for too long. I let the model air-dry for at least 24 hours before clear coating.

Clear coating- this is what turns the model translucent to clear. I use 2 coats automotive clear coat on all sides of the pieces and give it 48hours to dry before assembling. Extremely important: clear coat before gluing the pieces together as noncoated sides diffracts light reducing the transparency. This also has a positive side effect at reducing the yellowing if your prints come out slightly yellow.

Printing- the most important. Use fresh resin every time you print. Anyone who has printed using clear resin probably had a print already come out yellow. UV exposure over time in the vat will cause yellowing and I found that after 8-9hours in the vat, the remainder will start yellowing. Therefore I try to minimize the print time (0.05mm layer height + 10s exposure) by only using just enough resin to complete the print and refill the vat before the next one.

Hope this helps!

Painting the Roses Red with Anycubic Clear at 0.2mm and 14 sec exposure time. The extra exposure time may have helped prevent the thin walls from splitting as they did in a previous attempt using 12 sec exposure.

STL is ROSE by hanhan on Thingiverse.

So i never heard back from this group on my major photon s problem so I'll try again.

My photon is stopping mid print. the preview on the screen is just showing a blank screen and it was fine in the preview on the computer. It has been doing this 3/4 tries.

An any cubic customer support is useless. last time i did a support entry i never got a reply. I'm going to do another tonight but i'm hoping someone here can help.

Update: I was about two full builds behind (3.4.1 to 5.0.2 lol). So it’s updated and I am trying to print again. Fingers crossed! ?

Update 2: first two prints have gone fine. I think the updates fixed it! Thanks everyone for all the help!

Ok, here's another noob question for you PnP-miniature pros;

What is your favorite way of ensuring perfect prints, with supports and all?

Ie. what software do you use for supports, slicing, testing etc

Finally got some prints done and they came grate I over supported them so that’s a redo ?

I tried to print 6 x3 cal Ross the back and x3 across the front of the plate.

I done the levelling process again last night. The x3 that I had on the rear of the plate failed at tray level

So that was a bust ? but happy finally got prints complete

What is this stuff!?
I’ve been printing with my Photon for about a year and never came across these paper thing bits. They don’t seem to be interfere with the actual print, I’m just left with having to peel and pull all the bits out of the vat before a do a new print.
Is this what all the “heat your resin” fuss is about? I live in SoCal and it doesn’t usually get that cold, shout it’s reached mid 60s inside while I’m away or sleeping while the printer is running (in a sealed enclosure).
My other thought was that the new Elegoo ABS like grey can’t be mixed with MonoCure Flex or other non ABS like colors, like the regular grey was fine with.
Any input is appreciated!
For reference, I've been recently experiencing this with both: Elegoo ABS like grey + Elegoo Standard Maroon (40/60-ish) Elegoo ABS like grey + Monocure Flex100 (20-25%)

Hi.

I've got question. I used to run Photon and decided to "upgrade" to Zortrax Inkspire some time ago. but I've got quality issues. I use original and 3rd party resins.

I've been searching they FB group and tried with customer support, but they keep saying it's either no problem or area temperature difference causing these issues...

I have funny sagging/ deformations at support-part contact point. Does anyone know what could be a reason?

I started pre-warming resin and keep 22-24C around printer, resin's well stirred (no bubbles), slowed lifting speed, increased exposure and exp time-off, new fep, tried hollowed or full body (no difference), thickened supports too (2mm pillar and 1mm tip) Printer's in stable position and all leveled.

I think it could be either mechanical issue or something is wrong with LEDs, but it's only guessing.

I understand it's different printer, but maybe someone came across similar issue and could help me to resolve it.

Thank you very much for your help.
