Hello, Another newbie to 3d printing here and having trouble finding understandable direction on a question. I got a Photon for Christmas and haven't printed the sample file yet. I've discovered (by reading on this site) that I do have a "fauxton" which shows firmware ver3.4.1. So , I'm hoping the file on the flashdrive which came with it will print out ok? The file is PHOTON.pws and also has slicing software ver 2.0.23. I guess my main question would be to know if I'll need to update the firmware to a newer version. Many searches here and elsewhere on the net have basically confused me on this. I will try soon to do the test print off of the flash drive and see how it works out. thanks ?

Is this a direct replacement for the Photon ??? I see people say it is but there are also comments otherwise.

After having a first week of perfect printed models with my new photon S, took a week break from printing and now I’m getting my first failed prints. First try at this file had good first layers and failed to print supports. Re did my setting, adding a full second to exposure and increasing z list of support from 5mm to 10mm. After getting to a level I could see the print, it broke away from a lot of the supports. Going to let it finish. Good learning experience with doing my own supports. Using support settings from a 3dprintingpro. A mix of light mediums and heavies. Elegoo gray 8 bottom layers 60 secs, 8.5 sec exposure. Going to add some more heavies around the edges.

Hi, I'm new to this group. I printed my first model on the photon s with monocure 3d rapid resin (grey) the resin feels amazing and the print really kept up to the details of my model. Only problem as you can probably see is the belly didn't quite make the cut ? and the right arm looks like it moved in between layers? Help me out!

Have any of you ever had that problem of after one week of printing you have a high backlog of print cleaning. :)
Prints just washed need final wipe down and support removal.

I am still fairly new to 3d printing and have been tinkering around for the last couple of years. I have recently been spending more time developing my skills in regards to settings and supports. I downloaded and printed this awesome tank this weekend and I noticed stepping on the top surfaces, while the other surfaces look great. How can I improve or eliminate this going forward?
