Voodoo sorcerer, thank you Susan Sioux Mercer for pointing to that amazing model, sliced in chitubox 1.4, layer height .03 / 7.5s, resin phrozen grey, AA x 2

I only removed supports with a flush cutter, not even sanded, nor UV cured. My personal tip, put your model in hot water after IPA, supports become very soft and are removed very easily

Curtain supports is a thing ? ?

Hey everyone, I've had my Photon S for a little over a week now, and I've had a lot of successful prints, but I feel like the quality of my prints seems very low compared to what I see here.

I feel like I've tried everything, but I just can't get the print to look better, and I really hope that I can get some expert advice here.

Here's a small list of things I've "done" to ensure quality.

Leveled build plate 3 times to ensure it's level and close to the LCD.
I normally shake resin properly, but I've also tried not shaking it.
I've printed models "upright" and at 45 degrees (45 deg helped a miniscule amount)
Tried 0.02, 0.04 and 0.05mm height.
Tried both Anycubic Green and Anycubic Aqua Blue resins.
Tried with more and less support.
Cleaned and inspected FEP
Cleaned FEP and LCD
I ALWAYS clean my models in 2 different IPA baths and always cure them for 20+ minutes under UV.
I've been painting Warhammer etc. for a number of years, it's not a paint primer issue :(

I'm out of ideas of what could be the problem, I've attached a picture of one of the best "28mm" scale (30mm tall from head to toe) that I've managed to print (it's been primed)

Do the yellow shaded windows of the Photon block UV rays? Do I need to be worried about sunlight from a window going through the window glass + Photon glass to cure resin in the vat prematurely? I read that regular windows panels block most UV light so I don’t imagine this is something to worry about.

Hi all, new here but big issue. I recently replaced the lcd screen on my photon after I cracked it during the leveling process. After replacing was able to do a test print without issue. Suddenly and seemingly without much warning, the printer is failing. Typically when I turn on the printer, I get fans that start up, the fans seem to be dead. My input lcd screen seems to work, but I can’t actually get any inputs to do anything (z stepper, uv testing, etc). It’s alive and dead and I’m not sure what to check. I pulled out the motherboard and all the connections seem tight. Any help on where to go would be great

Curing questions. I bought a light see link.
Says it is Wavelength 395nm to 400nm. Is the 5nm difference going to be a problem? Don't really understand UV other than it gave me cancer one time. Also, curious how to know when a part is cooked? 30 sec, 5 minutes, an hour...How do you know? I do know that as I approached the lamp with gloves that had some resin on them they started to get hot and cure. So it's reacting. Just don't know if it's all proper like. Thanks in advance!

Long time listener, first time caller. I am a prop maker in the entertainment industry. I am trying to make a miniature pint glass that is transparent. I have referenced the google spreadsheet for how best to print with the anycubic clear. I have not used IPA to clean and just used soapy water. Then I have sanded to about 2000 grit. I have also tried coating with a clear UV protectant aerosol spray to prevent discoloration. I am struggling with 2 separate issues here. One is the transparency of the print, the second is the yellowing. I have kept them out of sunlight. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you in advance hive mind.

Ok so I wasn't going to grab a uv lamp for post cure, because Australia has plenty of sun. However I did want to start setting up the workshop at the farm. For reference my farm is 100% off grid, with a wind/solar combo system. I have plenty of 24-12v step down regulators so I wanted to get some led strips or ribbon that runs off 12v. Any particular recommendations to avoid ending up with strips that don't actually output the correct wavelength?

Well. I had a day off on Monday. I finally took apart my Photon to put in a third screen. Thankfully it came apart fine.

But why is this machine so damned hard to install things in?

The four screws that hold the case go into these little troughs so if you can't get the screws back all the way to the other part with an allen key (provided) it falls into the trough and is nearly impossible to retrieve.

To put the screen in, I slid the ribbon into the slot on the red flat table, and of course it doesn't just go down to where it's needed, it has to be pushed over a wall so the ribbon can reach the connector. Which you may not know until it becomes harder to do.

Removing the UV pyramid is equally frustrating as the other screws. The allen key provided is JUST long enough to remove the back two screws, but not long enough to ensure they get to go back in easily.

Putting the unit back together is incredibly frustrating as the bottom doesn't align easily to the sides, and you have to get those screws in perfectly through two holes to the body, without losing them in the interior again.

But dammit, with some incredibly sticky double-sided tape, I managed to get the new screen in.

My FEP was really cruddy so I replaced that. Luckily the video Anycubic provides on YouTube is amazing. It worked like a charm. The tightness of the FEP using that Coke bottle cap is amazing. Like it was done professionally.

I did a new print in Anycubic Green and it failed. Dammit! I haven't had a successful print on this thing for over a year.

So I found it may have been a corrupt file.

I put a different file on the bed that was NOT corrupt, and ...

IT WORKED!!!

I mean it printed really nice!

Today I used my first bit of Monocure Clear and it printed! PROPERLY!

Ok... I may be back...
