I foun this gap in a *.Stl Do you thnk is gonna be an issue? how can I fix it?

So after trying a few thinks you recommende, Netfabb, meshmixer, etc. Im gonna print it as is. Cause Chitubox just slices it without the gap.

Reminder that sometimes print failures are caused entirely by bad model geometry during slicing. This one had four distinct topologies and an open edged plane and resulted in the first picture after being sliced in formware, after some massaging in meshmixer I was able to get a successful print out of it.

For anyone using monocure rapid grey, if you're having issues with clarity and blurring etc, even with highly tinkered settings, switch to gunmetal grey.

Its darker, but oh boy does it print well, same settings as the grey for me, and it looks schmicko.

Not Photon specific, but probably useful to most people in here, I'm finally feeling like I'm getting the hang of Meshmixer. This very complex piece went from 4 parts, to 2 parts, to one. I combined the two core halves with the sphere, exported to Netfabb to combine the meshes, and then back into Meshmixer to hollow (results in purple). I then imported the spine, hollowed the spine and combined the spine and core to make one complete piece, totally hollowed and integrated ready for supports and printing.

I did print the parts separately at first and they came out great, but the little bit of warping that occurs in the print process combined with not perfect modeling on the sculptors end meant they didn't align very cleanly, resulting in a lot of putty work. I'm not unaccustomed to it, working on resin kits for decades, but if I could make the process a little easier all the while learning some new stuff, why not?

How do I scoop out the bottom of a base that's solid resin using meshmixer, chitubox, or even the prusa slicer?

Ok so I am fiddling around with mesh mixer to try and create some custom minis.

We had a DND session where he had created a mock up monster that was a goblin that had been infected with these mushroom spores that also contain dark magic. As the corruption gets worse and the spores spread through their body, they start turning into a mushroom and tentacles sprout from their body. As the corruption overtakes them they basically turn into a mushroom/goblin mutant. Some of them take on different forms. There are mages, brutes etc all with the same basic idea with mushroom body parts and tentacles.

It was a very lovecraftian theme he had going.

I came up with the clever as well as apt name “Mushlins”

So the DM told me to find a mini that will work. Didn’t find anything that had both features!!

So!! I am in mesh mixer!! I downloaded a mushroom race with a couple different varieties.

I also downloaded a few tentacles!!

MeshMixer is proving to be a wonderful choice!!!

And I can even create my own custom models or combine free models and make my
Own content!!!

Is there a reason to use Meshmixer instead of Prusa to split models? I'm already doing supports in Prusa.

Hey everyone I have a problem on my hollowed prints I get sometime holes at the top layer of round objekt or features. I hollow my models in Meshmixer with 2mm walls. Then I support and slice them in chitubox and run them through the file validator.

嘿, 大家好, 我在我的空洞的列印上有問題, 我有時在圓形或功能頂層找到洞. 我用2 mm牆壁在meshmixer空洞我的模特. 然後我支援並切片在chitubox, 並通過檔案驗證器運行.

Quick question... would anyone who is familiar with 3D modeling be able to look at an .stl or a meshmixer file for me? I found a mini that I liked, mostly. I took some time teaching myself a bit of Meshmixer and edited it a bit more to my liking.

I attempted to print it, and it failed to print. The supports printed fine, the mini didn't. So, would anyone be willing to take a look at the mini and make sure I didn't forget some important step to making it print-able before I go re-supporting and slicing and all that?

Im very insecure about hollowing out models - but it needs to be done.

How would you go about this one? Ive hollowed it out in meshmixer 2mm walls.

I would think it would need holes where I placed the red dots (plus some more mirrored on the other side). What are your thoughts
