Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » FDM

Good day everyone. So I got myself one of these on Black Friday sale from Amazon, Photon standard. I owe few fdm 3d printers and this is my first resin one. I got one due to advertised high precious prints but I cannot get any dimensionally correct print. I tried to print gt2 60t pulley. I tried few different calibrations approaches, different angle/orientation, with and without supports, etc. Last attempt resulted in kinda egg shape result. It was 50 degree tilted in x axis with bunch of support. Is there any trick how to improve prints or these printers are only good for miniatures?

Just got my Photon in the mail have gone through all the setup and printing my first object. Coming from FDM printing it kills me not to be able to see what's going on in there. Wish me luck. Thanks to a lot of advice I got from this page in the last few days even though I have not posted I have been lurking and learning.

How do you print with this thing? I always have failed prints. I have been trying to use chitubox. My recent settings at 70sec first layer and 8sec normal. .05 layer height. I always have issues of prints sticking to the FEP. It usually starts out okay but will end up warping on the bed or ripping off the bed mid way through the print. Every time I try supports the object stops/fails where the supports would join to the print object. I make sure to use a big brim over 25% bigger than the object being printed. I am so frustrated with my Photon. Just thinking of giving up on resin and sticking with my successful FDM Ender 3.

Hello,
I’m new to Anycubic. I have photon S and it produce non accurate results. I have tried to print a two parts complex mold with Anet A6 FDM printer and the same object was printed with photon S. I have found the I can completely close the two parts of the mold with no gap or interferences with the FDM printer while for photon S there is a gap an incomplete contact of the opposing surfaces!
Any suggestions!

I'm really happy with my Photon, and all of a sudden I'm finding myself looking for an FDM printer for larger pieces - mainly miniature gaming stuff (ships, houses and the like). Any recommendations? Things I'm looking for:

- Very good quality. Striations are why I've steered clear of FDM in the past, and printing with the Photon has established certain standards. I'm looking for as close to resin quality as possible. Miniatures I'll print on the Photon, so that's not an issue.

- Decent price point. I'm looking to spend something along the lines of 250-400 EUR (~275-440 USD, 213-340 GBP).

- Large enough build area. I have the Photon for smaller pieces. The Photon's build plate is pretty small at 115 x 65 x 155 mm. I don't need a huge machine, but something noticeably bigger.

- Ease of use. Time is money etc, so while I don't mind tinkering, I'm not looking to build a machine from scratch and start with printing replacement parts for it. The more plug & play it is, the better! Of course as with the Photon, I'm happy to tweak settings for the best results and so on.

I'm currently looking at the Creality Ender 3 and (inspired by recent reviews) the Lotmaxx SC-10. Any others worth considering? Experiences with these machines? All help is welcome!

Got another question for you all. My hobby is miniatures and d&d which naturally leads into this hobby rather easily. I've never done any 3d printing before, and when looking at resin printer stuff I found something about making an integrated heating contraption. I'm noticing most of these mods require an FDM printed enclosure.

So long round about way to get to my question. Should I join the hobby by first getting an FDM printer and learn that before diving into the deep end with resin printing?

Hey all. Been printing with FDM for a little over a year now and looking to get my first resin printer. I will be printing mostly table top minis. I am looking at the Photon or Photon S. What is the difference and which would be best for me? Some have said the Photon is more than enough and has wider community support which is a selling point for me as well as it being less money but what would I be gaining out of the Photon S? Thanks for the help. These are my first steps into resin printing so I am sure I will have lots of questions.
