So 3rd try through (first bed wasn't set right, so complete failure, 2nd one was posted yesterday) and this time it come out better, but looking at the base, it feels like something went 'off' right from the go. did my bed become unleveled because of the suction perhaps? It seemed when I checked it that it was pulling pretty hard when it was printing, but I've only used FDM up until now so I have no gauge for 'normal'

almost dialed in, thanks for all the help so far all!

Hi everyone! So I'm getting ready to pull the trigger and finally order a Photon but I've run into a dilemma: Which one to buy. The Photon or the Photon S? I love the community support the Photon has but I also like the increased buildplate size on the Photon S and the steps they've taken to reduce the Z wobble. I'll be printing miniatures so a larger buildplate would definitely be a nice to have. My experience in 3d printing is exclusively related to FDM and my only experience with resin printing is what I've read on here (a wealth of information!) and the Youtube videos I've been watching. So, my question is which would you buy? I'm keen to get any input, positive or negative. Thanks!

Gets FDM printer: Instant gratification on FLP.

Gets DLP: Stares at build plate for 2 hours before being reassured the print is still there.

2 different worlds lol.

Just started my second print. First one made a nice little resin biscuit. Is there any way to know if it’s working? Should I see or hear a pop or release from the FEP? Or is this just the unknowable madness that I have to live with?

I’m coming from The FDM world where I know right away if things are going well.

Thank you for letting me join the group. My husband and I just purchased our first resin printer and are having a lot of fun - along with some trial and error. We already have three FDM printers and needed a printer to make minifigs for gaming. I keep telling Dan (my husband) that eventually I'll have my robot army. lol. Thanks again! I can't wait to learn to get the most from our printer.

Is there a website where I can find models specifically designed for SLA printing? I ask because another user on here had issues with a model that came in multiple pieces. Unforutnatly they didn't fit together and one of the comments was that it was designed for FDM not SLA so it wouldn't fit properly. Thoughts?

I (like many I assume) am new here. Going to start my first print tomorrow after work. Watched a ton of videos..so we'll see how it goes. Had a FDM printer for 3 years, but this is the first trial into resin.

Anyone see any major major issues with the model that I should fix? Went through w/ the Validator and fixed any islands, so no problems there.

Heavy supports seem a bit much? Going to be using the AC green that came with the printer. Printing solid.

Setting 0.04 mm layers, 8 bottom layers, 50 second bottom layer exposure, 6 second exposure time. Pretty much the Chitubox default settings. Looked on the spreadsheet and seems in line with what others were using.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks for the community. I'm looking forward to this.

I do some terrain in XPS and foamcore and among the first things I would have printed had I gone FDM is a set of twxture rollers... but I ended up going resin first. Anyone done rollers in resin? Tough enough to work & last?
