Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » FDM

Had a print come what I thought was absolutely perfect, until I looked closer and there is a line going across the entire model, reminiscent of "layer shift" on an FDM printer! What is this, what could be the cause of this, and do I just print again or is there a "fix" for it?

Has anybody else had their 2K screen die after 4 prints or just due to time?

I got my Photon 11 months ago with a screen that was dead on arrival. Anycubic sent me a replacement that worked for 4 prints before I got busy and started just using my FDM printers. 10 months later, I tried to print again and got a big solid block of cured resin as though the screen wasn't masking at all. Doing the LCD test show this screen is now dead too...

What I'm wondering is: Is it possible that it died just sitting there or is there something else wrong with my machine that is killing the screen?

Greetings, and thank you for allowing me into the clubhouse. Seasoned FDM enthusiast with 4 printers on my bench and 3 more I've sold off. Decided to pull the trigger on a Photon (not S, obviously) on sale on Amazon for $430, plus a $25 coupon. Due to arrive Monday. Here to observe and learn. Will go looking for FAQ's, etc. before I start getting inquisitive. Excited to expand my repertoire!

FYI, current FDM lineup: Fabrikator Mini, Prusa MK3 (w/ MMU2 and S upgrades sitting nearby but not yet installed), Folgertech FT-5, Anycubic Chiron. (Past: Monoprice Makerselect i3 v2, Trium Delta, Prusa MK2S)

If anyone cares to offer n00b advice, I'll take it. Otherwise, I'll just get to reading and following along, and try to post productively. Cheers.

That scarf is so thin, no way an fdm would have managed. Turned out great.

Thanks for the add! I did some looking and found a few great resin options from this page and I'm Picking up my first photon/resin printer soon! I'm planning on adding it to my enclosure structure I built for the FDM farm and fully sealing it and adding the fume fan. So 2 questions

Will this fan be enough to extract enough of the smell to run it in my apartment or will I need to run a hose outside with a stronger fan?

Is there anything else (besides gallons of IPA and a pallet of gloves lol) I should order to make getting started easier? I'm going to print a few handles for the razors while it's in the mail, and of course the printer is in the cart as well.

This is my 8th printer but my first resin so I'm very excited to jump into this side of things!

I'm heavily considering adding an SLA printer to my FDM setup. Besides the cost of the printer and resin, about what cost should I be looking at for a decent washing and curing setup?

My Photon will be here in a few days,

A) I've searched the Group looked up and been reading lots

B) I've Got multiple FDM printers and have an understanding this is gonna be a process to learn.

C) I've got couple questions that the answers are all over.

What IPA in the states do you guys use? Link plz

Do you recommend a bath in IPA in say a jar with a strainer, then move to a ultrasonic cleaner(link to preferred ones)? Non Heated! Compressed air sounds like a descent idea also to clean part between baths?

Thanks for those old pros that take time answer these for the millionth time, I've been there still am there in my printers owners groups. There are pages and pages of these questions but none actually link witch IPA you guys use or where to get it.

Thanks all

New Photon owner here, thanks to a surprise lightning sale on Amazon.

Coming from FDM I'm really excited to print in super high resolution.

Here's to hoping it's as easy as I expect it to be. (Which is harder than FDM, but not rocket surgery.)

So what is everyone doing when when you have to print a large base for a model? are you sectioning it and printing on the Photon or printing via FDM?

Curious at how well quartered pieces will print and fit up. I have FDM printers, just iffy about the sizing differences between slicers.

You know I guess as long as I can use a trackball on a keyboard I can build models and I don't really need any tools. This is a test of the 1/48 scale command service module interior for measurements sake so it has no detail and some things are wrong just so I had natural supports this is for upcoming resin print so that I have a constant dimension to test parts Plus I wanted to see exactly how far I could take this with a 4 mm tip. Otherwise known as a test run. And I'll probably use it to test several Exteriors for test fit and seem fit..
This is a .4mm FDM print for an upcoming resin print.
