Hi guys,
First test print, the notacube.
I'm assuming the lines are a result of wobbly Z needing the eccentric roller adjustment?
First pic is orientation as viewed from front of printer.
Levelled Flint Read method, stock photon slicer settings. 50s base 8 layers, 10s layers.
Supplied Anycubic green resin.
Ambient in room 12 - 15 degrees.
Ta.
(The red one is a comparison print of the same file sliced at 0.05 on my ender 3 FDM)

QUESTION: FDM, Mods delete if too off topic, but figure its a good place to ask.

Hey, all you all.. my AnetA8 has given me 2 years of consistent good service, best 150 bucks I ever spent, probably 200 prints on it now, but, its tired.. have to replace parts every 3 prints lately or make awesome spaghetti monsters. ;) .. So I'm looking for a new FDM, 500 bucks budget, ABS capable in an enclosure with heated bed, should I just pick up another 3 Anets for that budget or is there something a bit better nowadays.

Hey folks, first time buyer with a few questions; namely safety. I really wanted this to be my first printer so I can make my own toys since I do a ton of modeling, but I'm gonna be downgrading to a small studio apartment in the near future. Is the risk of fumes and stuff really gonna be that bad? Cause I was super determined to get this, especially knowing a lot of fdm printers wont get enough detail on figurines.

Hi I'm new in this group so would like to say Hello to everyone.
I would like to ask you abut advice/help in choosing the right product for my application. At the moment I'm using 2 FDM printers for prototyping. Unfortunately they struggle when it comes to the very fine details.
This is where LCD based resin printer comes in. Unfortunately I have no experience on the resin prints durability. So I worked out that any from the below would be a great help:

1. Can one find a resin which is slightly flexible so you can for example make a 2 piece snap together matchbox size moulding prototype which wont fall apart on 1st try?
2. Can anyone send me his some of his prints(failures) with thin walls so I can check how the resin behaves (UK / will cover the cost )
3. Can someone print me one of my models (matchbox size) and send it to me (UK / will cover the cost )

Ok so got the Photon last week and got setup and printing at the weekend with the supplied translucent green anycubic resin. Test torture cube, perfect !. Started test printing a couple of figures that i currently print on my FDM`s and sell. These came out very well apart from what appears to be a bit zwobble which ive sort of solved to an extent.
However, i then swapped to a different resin which is a much thinner consistency and printed the same figure. I now get some of the supports not staying attached and causing a little misprint on the figure which is around the arm and elbow.
Ive shown them in the photos and was looking for what maybe the issue. Im aware that it will most likely be the thinner resin needing different settings. Would you agree with me? Also i think im gonna try and do the resin calibration test later today see what clues it may give me.

I am also aware that i am using very few and very thin supports, but it printed fine with the anycubic resin.

Anyway would appreciate any thoughts or tips.

Edit: Ignore my question, just enjoy the pictures. There is no scaling issue between softwares.....

I've printed his head and body at 60% scale in the original photon software. Then I printed the base for it on my cr10s fdm printer at 60% scale. The base is smaller than the bottom of his body ?

Kind of disappointed that it's not identical scaling. Anyone know a trick?

I dont fancy having to measure everything to scale it correctly because it will always be slightly off if it have printed something with tight tolerances

Any idea what happened with my base on this mini? I'm new (been printing on fdm for quite a while, this is my first print on the photon aside from the test cube) to resin and adding my own supports. Pretty much the whole thing came out perfectly except for this corner of the base.
