anyone in sweden knows a good place to order FEP , as I noticed a small hole in mine today after a print and realised it been a small tear and now I got resin all over the machine, cleaned it up, but now I need to get a new FEP

Contacted today with anycubic official via gmail, and asked about changing my 2kLCD screen, cause last summer while buying their product I was given an info about 1 year warranty and now they are saying that they have a warranty for LCD screens for only 3 months. Didnt you have such kind of problems and is it honest of their side to answer like this. P.S. my printer is Anycubic Photon s, and here is some photos of problem)

LCD screens wear out with use. They simply don't last forever. It's just one of the costs of 3d printing that we have to purchase new lcd screens from time to time.

Jeff Greenfield absolutely does for me! Just need some Kaplan tape or something to keep the screen down

Hi all, I’m having some issues printing.

I’m using supports to raise parts up so tge don’t get damaged when removing.

However, I’m finding on the surfaces that are facing the bed where the supports are joined to the parts, a ‘bulge’ of resin, usually in the centre of the part. The larger the part, the larger the bulge.

I’ve tried angling the parts in case it was resin that had collected on the part and had not drained off, but I still get them.

I’d prefer to not print the part directly onto the bed, but that might be the way I have to go.

Any hints & tips would be helpful.

I’m using Anycubic Clear resin.

Thanks all

I have had that issue with clear resin while printing in a chilly room and having too long exposure.

I believe that happens because transparent resin leaks UV through and the left over resin cures leaving a bulge. Now I have my printer in a warm room, shorter exposure time and transparent resin and the problem is gone.

Pete Frith

Sizing Question

I'm looking to print some miniatures, currently I've been using chitubox for print experimentation but I'm having issues getting the appropriate size. Is there another program I should be using to better help with this issue, or are there adjustments I can do with my current software?

Tim Borschel

Plop this down with your mini in chitubox and resize the mini to the size you want, then delete the scaler

Josh Berkley
2020-04-02 16:17:25

If you look at the scale tool it tells you how tall the selected model is, just look at the z axis measurement. Just be careful to factor in any weapons or things that may be above their head

Tim Borschel
2020-04-02 16:21:34

The scale is from feet to eyes, for d&d minis anyway

Nikola Pijanac
2020-04-02 18:45:19

You can also use meshmixer as well its free. Chitubox easy to use select scale if your model is standing upright select Z and punch in the height you want it to be. Just remember to take into account the base height as well. If you don't thje D&D dragons will want to scalp you for not making the appropriate mini size. They will then take their toys pack them up and abandon you in the middle of hells keep.

Woke up to a failed print. Turned the machine off to clean the vat and build plate and now it wont turn back on. Strange. Power supply light still on but the machine will not power up at all. Any ideas before i pull this c@nt apart and stick my big fingers in places they shouldn’t be?

Is there a thermal fuse that may reset if i leave it?

Is there a fuse on the main board i can change?

Has this happened to anyone else?

Is this ok for supports?

翻譯年糕

Yessik Ziiq
2020-04-02 15:16:41

In all honesty, it will probably work, I'd stand everything up more and put more supports on the feet.

Yessik Ziiq
2020-04-02 15:17:11

You always have to consider the amount of weight every support will be holding.

Josh Dalgliesh
2020-04-02 15:32:34

I can already see points of failure where I have marked in red in paint. The parts marked with question marks are because I can't see accurately where the supports connect underneath the model, but they do look like they're probably connected too high.

Josh Dalgliesh
2020-04-02 15:33:20

If you'd like me to explain supports to you properly over discord later, feel free to message me here and I'll elaborate for you.

You also want to angle it more - you risk the arms not sticking as they're nearly horizontal to the build plate.

So Im having issues with the supports not printing right. It starts ok but after a while they just thins out and dissapears. Bed level issue or resin settings issue?

翻譯年糕

罗西晟
2020-04-02 14:40:24

Exposure / object orientation.

Print starts fine and sticks to buildplate, though it "breaks" at some point. Means there are forces that are stronger than the cured resin keeping your print from succeeding.

Nick Ahlbin
2020-04-02 14:44:05

Ok so more exposure time. the Supports are Medium and straight from the buildplate so thats why its strange. I'll post pictures. Im running a Zero and its Anycubic black resin normal exposure time is 10s now

罗西晟
2020-04-02 14:46:32

Nick Ahlbin Could also be object orientation.

If you have a large surface that runs parallel with the FEP, It can tear your print off of the supports.

Also, Black resin usually has a comparatively Higher exposure time than say, Grey or Translucent Green resin.

Nick Ahlbin
2020-04-02 14:50:54

Xi-Sheng Luo Yes there's a bottom plate but thats also on support pillars. so the issue then is that the part supported by the bigger plate is more ridigd and is releasing from the FEP faster than the support pillars supported by a more flimsy support plate further away?

罗西晟
2020-04-02 15:01:02

Nick Ahlbin Could be, could also be your exposure time, hard to tell if we can't see how your build is orientated...

To make things easier for your mind to get around how the FEP suction works:

Take a piece of Tape and stick it to your window.
Now, think of the window as the FEP and your hand as the Buildplate and try to lift the tape off your window in 1 go.
You hardly have any grip, as the Tape runs parallel with the glass...
As soon as you start to peel a corner of that tape, you are creating an angle... and that angle you can much easier lift.

Nick Ahlbin
2020-04-02 15:07:07

Xi-Sheng Luo so always tilt large flat surfaces and see to it that all layers are as equal as possible

罗西晟
2020-04-02 15:09:18

Nick Ahlbin indeed, always tilt large flat surfaces.
The trick is to minimise the contact to the FEP per layer.
So your support structure is strong enough to hold on to the build.

Yessik Ziiq
