Question time! This may have already been talked about at some point. When I first got my photon there was a guide that stated you should put a screen protector over your photons screens incase for some reason the fep failed and cured resin got in the cracks of the screen and cured. I did this with a screen protector and kapton tape.

This has been over a year or so and I have been happy with the prints for the most part but I feel like the crispyness just isn't there. could it be that the screen protector is distorting the pixels enough to cause something similar to lightbleed?

This came up because my friend just got a mars and his prints look crisp and not washed out like mine.

UPDATE: I think i got it, I could hear the FEP stretching as the machine peeled the layers

Welp

I finally got my photon (a fauxton to be specific), but 3 outta 3 times the print failed by not sticking to the print bed

I bought a 4 gig USB fat32 formatted

I updated the firmware

I put some Kapton tape in the edges of the LCD to avoid spills from getting into the system

I leveled the print bed using the Reed method

And proceeded to print the anycubic lattice cube, the one from the website

I checked the progress 10 minutes later and the print bed was empty, so I checked using the plastic spatula the vat and there was a resin circle stuck to it, I got it out filtered the resin back into the bottle and tried to level the bed again using the anycubic method

Again, the print did not stick to the print bed, so I tried leveling again using the reed method with the same results

What can I do? the only thing that I notice is weird is that the print bed is white on the bottom instead of being blue like the rest

Also whenever I use the Reed method I never get the bed to a point where is hard to move in the FEP, that might be it but I fear cracking the screen

So I have an OG photon, and it prints just fine. Why should I do this firmware update?

Just got it today. First print did not succeed, resin got stuck to the fep. Did a complete calibration and went a bit closer, also heard that lovely plucking sound from the base layers which I was told is a good.sign. Is it normal not to hear any after the base layers when it is printing supports for example? The design makes it so nothing can be seen from the outside as it prints the first layers.
