Aceton will break thr resin down.

Angus Sanders good to know. Apparently even cured resin, cause the IPA did NOTHING here, so it must've already cured..

I use 50% or 70% as a pre soak before putting parts in my 91% to keep it cleaner longer.

I salt out all the time. Just get non iodine salt (like sea salt or pickling salt), and make sure it is IPA and not '50% compound' as that is ethanol and it wont work. Pour in ALL your salt (you cant have too much) and watch it seperate. Decant IPA, dry out salt water, reuse salt.

my normal stockist is 5 pounds a litre you can now only buy at 25 pounds. tbh i just stopped printing the health service needs it more then me.

I bought this off eBay, £10 for 5 litres. The day after I bought it the bad feedback started showing up. Needless to say it didn’t arrive so Ebay was informed. Item was removed from Ebay, followed not long after by the seller. Got my refund.

Its probably a scam, I brought some a few weeks ago then Ebay sent me a message saying they were removing the item as it was suspicious. Still haven't received it and I'm having to open a case as the user won't respond

Honestly it does make the most sense its a scam, I bought it before making the post lol. I was kinda expecting it but I figured 10 bucks was a small enough gamble to make lol

5 Litres should be closer to $25 on a normal day. Total scam. I bet if you check the item location it is USA: USA.

I really should have checked here before buying it... lol oh well. Biggest reason I went to try it was the person had a 100% rating on ebay

I was buying 99 IPA locally at around that price before corona hit.

Tried to buy ipa from eBay last week. , £11for 5 litres.
Didn’t arrive and I got a refund.

I just looked at some of those listings: the sellers have either were low feedback numbers, meaning they haven’t been selling many items, or they have no recent feedback so the probably are using old accounts to scam people. I always encourage people to report those items to eBay so they can investigate, but unfortunately they pop up as fast as eBay takes them down

Methylated spirits will work well, It' s all I use.

Cleaners like "Mean green" or "Simple Green" are often suggested as alternatives for folks who live in places where it is difficult to get Isopropyl alcohol or Methylated spirits.

Frank Rouge We call it denatured alcohol in the US. It’s basically Ethyl with bittering agents to make it undrinkable. Also used as fuel for hot tables and such.

I use Simple Green and it does the job well, but it takes a lot of time rinsing to get the Simple Green off.

Try different household cleaners. Mr clean worked for me.

Hey guys. I do not know about your specific techniques... In france IPA is quite costy, so i'm cleaning my parts with aceton. It works very well but you have to do it quite quick. Like shake for 5 seconds the print in aceton and then put it to dry in an UV box and the result is excellent.

What about industrial Alcohol?

so what is your process?

I do the following:

Remove from printer
Soak in 97% ISO for 5 minutes
Scrub with toothbrush, Rinse off
Put in Mean Green container #2
Soak for 10-15 minutes (or longer)
Fill bathroom sink with HOT water and rinse off model & remove supports
If still has sticky parts I repeat steps 1&2 and rinse again
Then let dry fully before curing

Dan Gump Remove from printer
take a big Brush soaked with IPA 99,9% and rinse off the most of the resin
remove from build plate (supports)
let is soak for some sec
rinse off with soaked Brush
change IPA (other container) with cleaner IPA
make the same again
dry it with a airblower (i think rinse it off with water atm will cause White color - IPA and water mixing)
post cure 15min

What resin do you use?

Eleego Grey , used all time, since last 2 prints very sticky

So you did not change absolutely anything and it wasn't sticky before?
Same resin, same postprocessing, same after-curing?

Cure them in water

Jakub Mach yes, also everything i touch in the post process is very sticky after that.... like the brush or the spatula (remove from buildplate)

Replace your IPA

Do not replace your IPA pour it in a transparent container and cure it with uv light over night, in the morning there will be solid residue in the container, filter out the solids and you can use it again and again

Make a post curing with a layer of any kind of transparent jelly , the exterior layer of the object cannot be fully polimerized due to the oxygen inhibit layer .

I did it two days ago, when I do it again I will post some photos

Call me crazy, but I swear my prints are sticky when the resin gets old. Maybe more of a constant temp would help prolong the life in the bottle, idk.

Never tried it but I've heard acetone is a good cleaner if you're careful. Short baths <45s
