Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » IPA

Tried the PowerCast Burn castable resin from Powerresins. I like that it doesn’t need UV post curing. In fact, the tech support person said that it is not recommended to expose the print to UV. Just a rinse with 95% ethanol (the tech support lady also said no IPA to rinse either).

I’m happy with the detail at 35 microns. I didn’t think the mill grain in this model would show but it did (the ring is size 6.5)! Took a little over 4 hr to print. I found out from the first prototype that I need to change the orientation and position of the supports, as a few of them kind of messed up with some elements of the design.

I prototype mostly with Anycubic UV ECO resin but I’ve been itching to try this castable resin from Powerresins. It’s a bit expensive but if I can get this level of detail, then is worth the investment.

Has anyone had issues before with Elegoo Gray resin?

I have for the most part stuck with the transparent green resins in the past, I've used Anycubic, Elegoo, and Monoprice with no issues. I decided to pick up a bottle of gray this week and it has been a fucking mess.

I tried printing with the settings on the bottle with no luck but I know those can't be fully relied on. So I did an exposure test and my best result was around 18 seconds which is more than double what the bottle said. So the same 5-hour print I did with Elegoo green last week was 10 hours with gray.

The worst part is the leftover residue it is leaving on everything. I don't know how clearly you can see in these pictures but my tub was clear on Friday and my spatula was solid black, and this picture of my plate was after dunking and scraping it with a new bottle of IPA. On top of that, everything this shit touches is extremely sticky even after multiple IPA baths and hot water rinses. I even tried a soapy water rinse and it is still sticky. The biggest thing was that I got a single drop of IPA bath on one of our tables, it is stained and I have tried everything short of sanding it to get it out with no luck.

On the plus side, my print came out fine, but it doesn't seem to be worth the hassle. I am returning what I bought and getting green again, but did I just get a bad batch or something or is this a known problem with Elegoo Gray? Has anyone has a similar experience?

Just got some Mean Green super strength.

Can I use Mean Green and IPA as a first wash then a 2d? No idea how they would react...

So first Meangreen
Then IPA

Is 91% IPA enough to thoroughly clean prints? I've heard some people say that anything less than 99% doesn't cut it.

91 %的ipa足以徹底清理列印嗎? 我聽說過一些人說, 不到99 %的東西都不會削減它.

My IPA curing ordeal: Okay, so I got myself a 72W UV nail station, but like with sun curing I still only get white goop instead of cured microflakes that I could easily filter out. Filtering the goop through a coffee filter gives me yellow IPA. It just doesn't seem to go clear anymore, is that normal? Any difference in using this IPA compared to "fresh" clear IPA for cleaning prints? (Resin used was Anycubic green which came with the printer!)

What are peoples printing workflow? This is mine - grab an STL, pop supports on in chitubox (usually auto and then delete / adjust as I see fit) pop it into validator and just fix any floating pixels / islands print scrape it off and dunk it in ipa and give it a quick toothbrushing let to dry final cure 翻譯年糕

So here’s my first non test print ?
Super happy with the detail, but I have some questions which is probably easier answered here than googling

White residue, assuming I didn’t clean it well enough? I’m using 99% ipa, it’s a bit cloudy atm also assuming that’s resin diluted in it?

What happened to the base? I printed it straight onto the build plate but it appears to have shifted to one side, he was also shifted but he was on supports

I like Siraya Blu, but my eyes burn being around it. Going back to Anycubic Green.

In the meantime, here's a big, beautiful print in Siraya Blu. The main body of a 28mm Scale Scorpion Mech. This thing is supposed to have 8 legs, pincers, a tail, and weapons all over it.

The glisten is from IPA, not resin, not to worry.

Need some advice.

My prints even after cleaning are incredibly sticky. There's almost no chance that it's residual resin because after a wash in cleaner, I'm curing these things overnight and then hit it even more with my UV flashlight for a good minute or two up close just to be thorough.

I'm assuming that it's the cleaner I'm using that's making it so sticky. I'm using the Mean Green that Uncle Jessey on Youtube recommended and a sonic cleaner (I saw the video about the heater and yes I'm no longer filling the tub with mean green or leaving the unit plugged in) but for now I'm just trying to make it not sticky.

I'm also driven to think it's the left over cleaner that's sticky because AFTER I cleaned it I thought "Okay it's safe to touch" and after handling it a bit, the skin on the tips of my fingers started to flake off a bit. A telltale sign that you're touching heavy-duty cleaning solutions. (Wearing gloves until I KNOW that it's clean now)

I've tried warm soap and water, cold water, washing it with IPA. Nothing seems to get this thing to not be super sticky.

I'm considering not using the green stuff anymore and switching back to 99% IPA. Give me your experiences/suggestions
