Ok so I finally got to use my sonic mini today and did 2 prints just fine. Then printed some other stuff to compare to prints from the photon s I have. I love it since it’s so much faster.

However, somehow resin splashed on the case/lid, has 2 small cracks on the case/lid, and the vat is cracked in a few places. I did a quick google search for a metal vat replacement. No luck.

I was seriously ready to return the photon to Amazon I have 5 days left and then I was going to buy another sonic.

Any suggestions to remedy this? I really want this one. But I print constantly and can’t replace plastic vats every day.

EDIT: haha I’m stupid that wasn’t splashed resin it dawned on me last night taking the lid off how the resin got there. I set it upside down and there was a bit of resin on the rim from refilling the vat during a print.
The company stated where the cracks are us due to the screws and their injection molding. Some other explanations about the cracks also which totally makes sense to me. I did order the metal vat from their website it was just over 52.00 with shipping in USD. I’ll make a new post regarding the company here gouging people.

Hi.
Long time FDM owner, new at resin. So I have two questions:
1. Are there an online guide for common print troubleshooting, like the is for FDM. ?
2. So my current problem is that bottom layers seems to "melt" together. See the pictures, the coin should have been identical on top and bottom.
What parameters should I tweake to fix this?

I have 8 bottom layers, with 50 sec exposure time for the bottom layers. Otherwise 6 sec for all other layers.

My printer is a photon S, the resin is the one that came with the package.

Curing in water? Anyone do this? I just switch to Sirarya Grey with some tenacious and I absolutely love it! I've read that curing in water cures better...anyone do this? Would I need to move the piece around to cure every side? I built a curing box with tinfoil on the sides, top, and bottom, with a light at the top. Any suggestions?

Hi all. I’m currently in the process of building an enclosure that powers the printer, heater, white leds for working on printer and eventually the top section will have UV leds and be used as a curing chamber ... I have it all running from a 30a 12v PSU. I get a weird whine but only in certain situations. If the heater is on a heating cycle and I press pause on the printer, as soon as the heating cycle finishes , it whines. If the heater is off and I turn on the white lights, I get a whine. Would this be coil whine from the PSU or feedback from the printer itself. Thanks in advance. ( and for the people who suggest a heater isn’t needed, mine is in a garage that has repeatedly been in the minus Celsius over the last few months)

Hi there! I came here to see if someone can throw some light about this. The lines that you can see in the leg, is just z wobble issue, or is something bad adjusted on the printer? Because them has like some kind of pattern. I mean, maybe something that has to do with the FEP, Z screw/stepper, etc..

Edit: printed vertical, hollow, with drain holes, and at 0,04 later height.

Hi everyone, I searched for this error but could not find it anywhere. It was NOT my goal to print this hollow rectangle, I just wanted to print a brain. Where the hell did this come from??

This is the second time this happens to me and I really have zero idea why. I think maybe a faulty stl or something? Last time it happened I literally printed the same file again and it came out perfect. Any suggestions are welcome

Let's take a moment of silence for the effort that are required when cleaning this up. Rip all that resin. Rip my build plate. Rip the FEP. It takes a lot of strength to remove this useless piece of resin.
