So I decided to do a little experiment. I've read the comments multiple times about leaving prints in IPA too long can cause cracking and also read the article from a resin manufacturer and the test results they got. They did say it varies from resin to resin but I've only ever used Anycubic resin and I've never noticed cracking from soaking in IPA for too long.

I generally try to shoot for 5 to 10 minutes but there's been tons of times I forgotten about it overnight for several hours. Never seen cracking or any negative effects from doing so.

So over the last three days I conducted an experiment of soaking a miniature in IPA for 72 hours straight. I took photos at the 6 hour mark in comparison to one that was only soaking for 5 minutes. Another picture at 24 hours. And final 72 hour mark.

Now to be clear I'm not suggesting or recommending you should soak your parts for 72 hours I'm just sharing my experience and decided to do my own tests using anycubic resin. To confirm my results there is absolutely no cracking from soaking IPA for a few hours let alone three days.

If you would like to make your own test using a different resin and share your results I would be interested to see.

These prints are extras/scraps, so no effort in clean up of supports was taken, they were printed at the exact same time and are more or less the same shape just a different pose. They are regular 28 mm scale printed solid at 0.05 layer height. And the resin colour is a mixture of any cubic orange, skin, aqua blue, clear and transparent green lol

I am very new to 3D modelling and am struggling to find even simple tools in Blender to get started with, while watching beginners tutorials seems to largely consist of learning keybinds (90% of which I doubt I’d ever really need). Are there any tools or add-ons that help with 3D modelling and, ideally, have a UI/overlay that doesn’t involve searching through dozens of features absolutely useless to you when you’re just trying to design something to print?

I’ve worked out how to add/modify basic shapes (turning a cube into a rectangle, for example), rotate, move, change size values and all of those basic things. But when it comes to editing the object beyond that, such as creating specifically placed indents (which I’ve managed to partially achieve with the extrusion tools), morphing certain parts of the object etc, I’m getting lost among tools I don’t actually need (as best I can tell) while I search for the ones that I do.

Alternatively to my original question, recommendations for generally helpful add-ons and tutorials specific to 3D modeling would also be very useful.

I’ve finally finished my Deadpool! Printed on the PRUSA MK3 and guns done on the Photon S. Printed in eSun grey at 0.08 layer height and Anycubic Green in 0.02. Painted by me in Vallejo paints.

I’ve tried to make it as movie accurate as possible.

He’s about 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide.

Ok. Continual failures of runs good once but there was a spot not supported right followed by same file supported well. But fails at start of print where the other time finished. Over and over. Stuck on what needs to be fixed at this point.

Leveling is either super finicky or I don’t know what “grabs the paper so it won’t go back in” means. I have tired compensating for poor base leveling with long exposure on the first 8 layers. Hasn’t made a big difference. I can’t understand how exactly to read that darned exposure test so I’m not sure if my layer exposure is actually right. But I am near the settings that the sheet shows for the same resin. My fep had to be replaced because I puckered it. I happened to do that again early on with this new one but a print came out ok with it like that. Then I tried to print again and it didn’t work. I found I’d tuned my fep wrong. Retuned it. Got a print. Now it fails again. What am I missing. I’m frustrated because I see what it can do but it won’t do it consistently.

How do you change Z-lift speed and height in Chitubox? I don't see the option anywhere in the settings tabs. I selected Photon-s as my printer.

Hey Guys! We are looking for new ideas to write about in our blog https://ameralabs.com/blog/ .

What are the topics in SLA 3D printing, that you'd like us to explore? We can do an experiment, write a tutorial, overview something in high level or dig deep into technical details of material science and 3D printing.

Steps taken.

-Plate leveled with paper and flint way

-FEP cleared and replaced to new

-Increase bottom layers from 6 to 8

-Trying from 75 to 120 exp time for bottom layers

- Trying severial thikness from 2 to 4

- Trying off time 1.5

Any advices?

ApplyLabWork PT-F001MT Formlabs Compatible 3D Resin, Prototype Engineering Series, Flex, SLA UV Printing Material, 1 Liter, Metallic-

I'll try. Curing of layers ok ?

Slow spill ?

Do not know where to buy about similar properties of TPU UV resin

I'm getting really frustrated. I haven't had a print work in over two liters worth of prints. Either I try to avoid supports and my prints work at the cost of detail loss via "elephant foot" of the bottom layer, or I use supports and the prints fail.

The little gray dice shows the elephant foot (right side), the rest are of a dice holder print that stuck both to the build plate and the fep. I was considering moving away from the anycubic slicer to try another program, but I thought I'd post some fails to see if anyone thought it was a settings problem first.

I just reset my z so I feel it's pretty level, and I bought vibration absorbing pads to try and further reduce failure, I totally filter and wipe the fep after every failure and shake up the resin before each print.

I'm running out of ideas here. ?
