Sorry I tried searching the group so bear with me. Im on my 3rd attempt at printing the default cube that came on the flash drive. My FEP sheet sounds like a snare, i leveled it with paper, my build plate is pretty darn flat id say. And its pulling nothing up from the resin. I guess that means I need to up the initial layer exposure? Is it common for the default file on the drive to need adjustment? The printers going now so I cant check, do I need to reslice the file to up the exposure or can I adjust it on the machine? Thank you!

It’s made for the transparent green I believe. That’s got a fairly low exposure time. What resin are you using?

I picked up a bottle of black since my printer did not have any sample resin. That would probably be fairly different then?

Aaron Dunkerly yeah. Black needs more time in my experience. Probably because transparent allows more uv to penetrate a little better. Do you get the base on the build plate or is it all on the FEP

It gets on the build plate too. It gets submerged a tad when its printing. Bottle says I need to set the exposure to 60 seconds.

This sheet will help you a LOT in setting the proper exposure times: https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j......

In need of some urgent help for some reason my printer is not printing as expected and all of my prints are just sticking to the fep film and not to the build platform I know this could be many reasons but what would you try I have tried doing the flint read method and had no luck?

Getting my first ever printer delivered early next week (photon s) and was wandering what is suggested for a tough resin? Couple things printed will be used hopefully

Siraya Blu (either the blue colored one or Clear V2).

I’m ok with the amount of detail I got and over all I’m happy with the prints but obviously there was an issue with the bottom of the supports. What could I change to prevent this from happening next time?

I recently printed my first model that was split into multiple pieces. Unfortunately some of them don't fit together. The aligning pins are too big, some of the larger portions are rounded. I'm thinking my exposure settings might be off. Thoughts as to whether this might be an under or over exposure?

I'm using Elegoo grey at 8s

Every printer is a little different and exposure with resolution doesn't say much. If you are at 0.5 that seems reasonable but it would be high for 0.2.

Tom Chandler

Im at .03 so maybe I’ll back it down to 6s

Ok...so this was weird and is fixed...but I'm trying to see if I can figure out what the root cause is in case I should be doing something (different, or at all)

Been happily printing along and came to the end of my bottle of resin. I cleaned out the FEP before adding the new resin (different color resin, same brand).

When I started it up, there was a sound ...not grinding exactly...but something was off. I stopped the print, checked to make sure the plate and pins holding the FEP were secure and restarted. Same thing.

I powered the printer off, as someone mentioned this had solved their problem. No luck.

I then pulled out the plate and the FEP again, cleaned everything...and was wondering if I should relevel...(if only to say yes I did when asking for guidance.)

On a lark, I started a print without the FEP or plate in the device.

Sound is gone.

Put the FEP and plate back in. Printing fine now.

Any thoughts on what was going on?

This maybe a stupid question...can you get dodgy bottles of resin?
I have a bottle of grey and black anycubic and a bottle of elegoo clear blue. All recommendations the same 60/8 seconds. This is what I have set out to in the slicer. was using the Anycubic grey and getting great results (pic 1). I then switched to the black Anycubic (same settings) to print a simple base for a model. I've tried upright, 45 degrees, flat, all raised on supports etc but 5 failed prints. Either supports breaking, not sticking to build plate, but mostly resin forming on the FEP which I've had to empty and peel off (pic 2 and 3).
I thought it was the screen so swapped to translucent blue, exactly the same settings, could see the screen working through the resin , and it printed a random print perfectly first go (last pics) ?‍♂️ what's going on with this black resin?

I know this is going to be hard - but can anyone help me translate my exposure test? I'm using the Siraya FAST Grey resin, so there are no settings for it on the spreadsheet. I'm hoping to add to it, myself, but I don't want to use/spread false information!

I'm leaning towards the 7 or 8, but I also feel like I don't 100% know what I'm looking for.

Thanks!

While my resin printer's are busy printing away at production models I sometimes use the filament printer too rough out designs for future resin print.
Here we have the Gemini Agena docking in 1/48 scale and while Gemini is in resin (and you can see that I'm still working out the shingle pattern) the agena is done in filament because it's less expensive material and in some cases better than the resin.
Now that I'm satisfied with the overall look and scale I will start the model all over to print it in resin with more emphasis on detail.
