Looking for a little help. I've had my Photon for going on 6 months now without much issue (one broken screen which I replaced). A few weeks ago my z screw began making a squeaking noise as the build plate lowered, and I started to see some issues with my prints. The first few images are of the bottom jaw of a dragon I am printing. If you look at the supported file/screenshot, that's what the connection is meant to look like. The images of the clear blue resin are of how that connection piece printed. Very heavy buildup of resin which I did not see in the slice file at all.

I figured it was a result of the z screw not being well lubricated, so I coated it with some white lithium grease, which stopped the squeaking. It still seems that the printer is having some trouble in the first few hundred layers however. I tried printing some open forge tiles, which came out great on 3 of 4 sides, but the side closest to the build plate came out quite warped on all 6 tiles. The print was quite securely adhered to the build plate, so I can't imagine it was a suction issue, and the tiles do seem quite well supported.

My slicer settings are:

Base layers: 8

Base exposure: 80 sec

Layer exposure : 12 sec (.05) and 10 sec (.02)

The jaw was printed at .02 and the tiles were .05

Any thoughts?

Can someone explain what's going on here please. The sides that have support are coming out like this, I'm not sure why but there seems to be a buildup of extra resin in parts and less in others

Suggested rule to address the nudity debate:

"Tasteful nudity is allowed, but do not post any models or prints intended to be sexually provocative. If in doubt don't post it."

Edit: I'm suggesting a rule to end the arguments about nudity, not to incite more. If you've got a better version of a nudity rule please post it, but let's make this thread actually productive, not just more arguing about whether nudity it good or bad blah blah blah.

The point is to find the sweet spot between overly aggressive censorship and possibly getting the group shut down by Facebook or losing members that can't access from work, etc.

Edit 2: Admin has declined to make a rule. I've closed comments since this post serves no further purpose.

Adjusting STL files:

What do people use? My use case is to take an existing STL and ...fatten a section because it is too narrow and breaks easily. I tried TinkerCad, but that has a file size limit.

Has anyone experienced a random band start to appear after some printing? Ive printed close to 3L on the photon s and recently I am seeing a band on my models every 25mm or so. Once I lightly sand and prime the models you cant see it but they never use to be there before. Any ideas?

Sadly, I dont have any prints that arent painted but I can share a picture the next time I print something

Question - I get on good print. I remove it from the plate and go to start the next one which fails to stick to the plate. Is there something I need to do to reset for the next print?

Anybody have an explanation as to why i keep getting these phantom geometries coming out of nowhere. They don't show up in the preview and ruin the print. I used sketchup to create the model in case that's an issue.
