Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » TIP

Hi all, I’ve recently experienced a number of failed prints and was not sure what’s going on. It seems that either the print is adhering to the plastic screen in the resin tank, or the supports aren’t gripping the print bed. I’ve attached a photo below.

I've added how my supports look as well.

The bases are there but nothing else prints. Any tips?

My specifications are:
Layer Thickness: 0.025
Normal Exposure Time: 11
Off time: 3
Bottom Exposure Time: 85
Bottom Layers: 8

Ok, so I just submitted a warranty claim to Anycubic. Figured I'd post it here too in case someone has any advice, and just in case one of their reps sees it here and can expedite things:

Summary: Several of the holes drilled into the build plate joint are too large.

When I first received my printer, I noticed that the build plate could "wiggle" horizontally even after tightening it (see the video I uploaded here: https://youtu.be/e5no6izFGps ). It would stay level, but I could rotate it slightly horizontally. It didn't seem to affect the leveling (at first), so I assumed it was normal.

I was experiencing a lot of failed prints, and determined that leveling might be an issue. I followed the steps provided by Anycubic to level the plate, and also followed the advice found on the Photonsters facebook group. I learned from that group that the horizontal "wiggle" was not normal, and I probably had a problem with the joint.

I took the joint apart and cleaned it, and realized that several of the screws were loose. I was able to tighten a couple of them, but at least three proved impossible to tighten. They simply spin in the holes. I tried multiple screws in these holes to make sure it wasn't a problem with the screw, but the result was the same.

Two of the holes on the ball joint itself, and one of the holes around the opening where the ball joint sits, are too large. See the uploaded picture - the bad holes are circled in red. The screws do not fasten, they simply spin.

I tried replacing the screws with ones purchased locally, but that didn't make a difference.

I tried using an epoxy to fix the screws in place, but that didn't make a difference.

The build plate is "wiggling" because there is only one tight screw on the ball joint. The plate also quickly becomes unleveled after printing because of the loose screws.

I'd like the build platform mount and joint replaced, or at least those two parts (circled in blue in the uploaded picture) replaced. Please let me know what it is needed to make that happen.

Thank you.

I just received my Photon and my Prusa i3 MK3 kit yesterday. I have never used a 3D printer before but I am seriously going to dive in on these. Any of you fine people care to throw out something you wish you had known when you first started printing? Any tips/tricks to share or pitfalls to avoid? Thanks!

Hey all, I'm about to try a print with multiple models on the plate. They're all the same and I'm using heavy supports.

Do folks typically print a single object at a time or have people found success in printing many objects at once?

Clearly this is a gamble, but I'm curious what people have done to succeed in printing a ton of items at once.

Thanks for any and all replies!

Quick question, what would be the reason for my photon being generally terrible at large flat planes? Each time I've tried the surfaces have come up super bumpy and warped. I'm assuming it's a leveling issue but I don't know if it's something else. One of the models I'm printing is split into multiple pieces and each one has a large square face that I have to glue together.

How can I mirror a model in the anycubic slicer app? When I do it in Cura and save the stl as binary it opens ok in the anycubic slicer but when I go to add supports the model is completely black and it won't add supports nor print (like it isn't there) when I print multiple models at once.

Good morning everyone, I have a question for you. When I purchased the Anycubic Photon as a second test, I printed the eifell tour, then realized that the tower hung slightly towards the tip, with a gap of 2mm on one side (1mm + / - for the two opposite sides), the sides incriminated I believe they were on the X axis.
Then I re-leveled the printer with a level, but nothing to do, the error continues.
Do you know if there is a reliable test to be carried out, to check the verticality of the Z?

Thank you!

Sorry about the second post. Here is a better review. Photon S first test prints. 6 surgical guides in 1 hour 15 minutes. The para LED array works. Every guide printed with small easy to remove supports. They all fit perfectly. Nextdent SG 100 micron layers. First impressions. Printer is built cheaply - plastic sides. Doesn't affect performance and actually makes the printer quieter. Very light though. Be careful not to tip it over. Maybe add some weights to it. Much improved Z axis with no wobble. Printer is slightly faster due to less time between layers. Software is a step back and has no preset configuration settings but otherwise similar to the previous Anycubic slicer. They apparently developed the software from scratch and I am sure they will fix those issues. The workflow is still the same - writing to a flash drive and printing from flash drive without connecting the actual printer to the computer. Touch Screen is smaller ? but much brighter, clearer and easier to read. Time will tell but I expect the performance to be similar to the Shuffle. All previous Photon parts (Vats, FEP, tools etc) will still work. Still easy to teach an assistant to do. We will need to work out new setting for resins. Had this up an running in about 20 minutes as the setup is the same as the previous Photon. Not bad for $479 including shipping. More to come. Stay tuned.

Suggestion/Tip... If you're hollowing and digging a hole in a model put a second hole opposite you're fist (If it's possible) to facilitate drainage. I used a drill as the resin wouldn't drain out of the single 3mm hole I dug in. I bet you guys know this already though:)
