So, unexpected finding. Across various scaled sizes, Elegoo Grey has more dimensional fidelity than does Siraya Blu. The only difference was I printed Blu with the objects in x/y and Grey in Z axis. Both at layer height .05. Any thoughts on this?

That moment of D'OH when you're prying a fresh print off the build plate, and send it flying across the room to land on the dogs fleecy blanket, and get it totally covered in fur!

Got my printer for a couple days now. After some failed prints and already replacing the film because of a leak, I wanted to try the grey resin.
I barely smelled the green resin that came along with the printer without any special upgrades but the grey resin (official Anycubic) is on a whole other level and quickly filled it's smell around my entire room. I'm currently looking at some setups to have better airflow and reduce the smell. I came across this post on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3441551
Since I have an FDM printer, this looks fairly easy and cheap to make. Anyone who has this exact setup, or any experts here that could tell me which setup would be better or what things I have to keep in mind?
I've heard about disabling the fan just now, but my printer is still running so cannot test it out quite yet. I would rather have a good airflow outside the printer instead of just disabling the fan anyway. Looking forward to hearing some suggestions, thanks! 翻譯年糕

Just a tip from a tip. Download Prusa Slicer and select the Prusa SL1 as your printer. Load your STL and use the support generator at 50% density.

It's the the best support generator and package I came across. No more pillars touching the object.

Export as STL with support and import into Photon Slicer.

This is my best way to improve prints at this moment.

Looking for some orientation/support advice in general. Brand new owner, test lattice cube came out beautifully, went on to print the attached figure from hero forge. I spent the better part of 2 hours trying and retrying different support structures and orientations. Best I got was 30 small islands (as detected by Photon File Validator) that were in too small places to fit supports. What's the solution here?

Should I have gone into Blender and manually stretched some things to make them work?

I also am not sure what happened to the one side of the crossbow.

For those who have issues with the Photon and the machine randomly resetting a few layers in - What firmware are you running?

I'm most curious if anyone on the Epax firmware are having the same issue or if there's a firmware on the Photon that doesn't have this issue. Seems that it's across multiple versions of the firmware, including the latest.

I recently had 3 failures in a row where the printer stopped printing after the bottom layers on different files (including ones that printed correctly previously). This seems to be a software glitch where the machine hangs after the first few layers, then restarts. Tried 4 different jump drives, including ones that worked previously. Tried turning off/ leaving it unplugged for a while, etc. Then randomly using one of the files that failed previously - it printed correctly.

Howdy, everybody!

I'm looking for a resin that will give my prints that clear, frosted glass look. I have continuously been using Anycubic's brand of resin for my other colors, but I'm wanting to branch out and use other brands of resin. Anybody have some good quality clear prints come out from resin that wasn't from Anycubic? I have seen several people that have models come out almost orange, and less clear. Trying to avoid that if possible.

I'm wanting this look. Any resin suggestions?

So I am a firm believer in learning all I can about a product before I buy it. Since I am brand new to resin printing, I decided to learn all I could about that as well. YouTube videos, thumbing through this group, checking the pros and cons, the works. So, I ordered my Photon last week and got it today. I had already printed the 4" vent hose adapter and vat cover on my FDM printer and had everything set up before my printer even got here. Built a window insert for the bedroom window. Put a small computer fan in it and it works perfect. Vents the fumes outside to the point I can not smell a thing.

I ran into a few questions and decided to use the search function before I asked in open forum (which is a normal practice for me, search first, ask questions later) and as usual, the answers presented themselves. Quickly finding out that this group is a wealth of knowledge, and a few smart asses :-D

So, I have my new Photon up and running and will be printing my first print over night. Fingers crossed but I am confident this little printer is worth the money. I have been printing with FDM printers for a few years and love it, this is just the logical next step. I want to thank everyone in this group for all your help, even if you don't know you helped!
