Chinese character, found a bargain, 18 models for 6$, they are nice but need to be repaired in meshmixer though ( make solid, 2 clicks ;) ).
Resin phrozen grey abs, printed at 0.02, settings in last pic.

Hey folks, looking for some workflow advice. I've mostly been printing my own Fusion360 modelled parts, but a mate came to me today and wanted me to do some miniatures for him. Specifically he wants me to start with this thingiverse one as close to full build volume as possible:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3016354

I don't particularly want to print a single solid fig that size, if nothing else I doubt it will work properly. What I've done in the past for stuff like this (Baby Groot, Toy Story Alien) is to hollow and drain in meshmixer, but this STL seems to be something different to what I've seen before. The model is made up of a whole heap of component meshes. The slicer plays nice and figures out it's meant to be solid, but in Meshmixer or ChiTuBox when I try and hollow it hollows each of the component meshes separately. That gives me a hollow torso, sort of hollow legs, hollow heads, but no connection between (for exaple) the hollow in the orc's body and the hollowing of the base. So I'm trying to make the model a single solid so I can then hollow it and have it work out.

If I use Meshmaker to 'Make Solid', then all the fine details get destroyed. I've tried using Blender (Was thinking Boolean operations would be my friend if I could split the STL into it's components), but it just crashes every time I ask it to split the imported model into it's components.

Anyone got a better suggestion on how to acheive what I'm after, which is basically a hollow version of this model with a ~1.5mm wall?

For the love of all that is unholy, I can not get these stupid Winged women to print using Blu! I have never been more upset with this printer than I am now, and its probably something i am doing...

I have tried flat on the plate, upside down, 35 degrees back, 45 degrees back, meshmixer orientated and Formware orientated. In the picture below, I used formware to place heavy supports by hand then I used Chitubox to auto the small ones (just because I was done with life..)

Need advice on removing supports and cleaning up the model. I did the search, found videos, etc, but somehow their prints don't look like mine... Here is a miniature I'm testing on, the supports are from Chitubox but Meshmixer and Anycobic slicer give similar results. Most supports come off very easily, they just snap off but they leave these dimples on the model. In some places where I have to snip them off, I get this whitish mark on the model. If it was an FDM print I would just touch it up with a hot metal smoothing tool. What do I do here?

Dentist did a CT of my mouth yesterday. I asked him if I could have the file as I 3d print things on the side. He said the only way he had to save it was an STL. I said perfect. Some editing in meshmixer and 10.5 hours later, tada!!!

Gladiator sculpted in Blender. Printed at 0.02 with anycubic grey resin sliced in photon's (it's not hollowed). Had some lines, so a bit of fine sanding and army painter's grey primer were helpful.
Since CTB doesn't work for me I'll do some tests with Meshmixer on other models.

Hello guys! It's me again with my Sonic ? I am still preparing for my first print, really afraid that it's gonna fail and because of that I am rechecking everything about 100x times. Resin in my country is really expensive and I even can't buy it from another, because of import prohibition of toxic materials. I really don't want to mess and waste it ?

So... How does it look? Supports, position, orientation and e.t.c? Also, I dunno how to hollow it, I saw some tutorials in meshmixer and it looks like it only works on busts, I tried and don’t get how it works ?

And one more question. I downloaded Photon Validator (thanks to author for this beautiful soft!). Do I need to check my print in validator before printing, will this help me in something? Also, I don't have much choice of resin here to buy (There is only Anycubic resin in stock, oh...). I want to try Anycubic Gray, is this good color? And can someone give me advice what type of primer is the best for figurines?

Sorry for so much questions and my bad English, it's not my native. THANKS TO ALL PEOPLE IN THIS GROUP, LOVE YOU ALL! ❤️ ? ? ? ? ?

Hello guys, i have encountered a problem that i really dont understand. I want to print thist file: https://www.shapeways.com/product/4C4LF3HXC/dwarf-druid…

In the 3D view everything looks fine. I already printed this file on an FDM printer a while back without any problems. But as soon as i slice it for the photon, a massive "column" gets sliced into it, from the buildplate to the head. I have absolutely no idea why. I tried to auto repair it in meshmixer. Exported it to .obj and back to stl in different programs. No success, it looks fine in any 3D viewer and printed without any problems in Cura.

Weird thing is: Its allways from the buildplate to the head. If i lay the model on the back, it still wents from the buildplate to the head, so it wont rotate with the file (even though the shape is different now). When i lift the whole model up from the bottom, the column still starts at the bottom. It basically connects the buildplate with a shape in the head with a solid column for no reason.

I have now idea what to do, how something like this can happen and why it doesnt happen in any other slicer or 3D program.

Any ideas?
