Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » PID

Hey guys! Thanks for your add to the group.

So, I purchased a Anycubic Photon S a couple of days ago, waiting for it to arrive in the start of next week - very excited. I read through this group here and noticed a few people had their machine arrive without resin, even though it's stated that it comes with a sample bottle of 250ml.

Now, I am really excited about this machine, so if the machine shows up without resin that does put a dent in my carefully laid plans - I have done some research and I am looking forward to testing the machine, learning how best to use it and take care of it, but if I don't have anything to print that becomes a big problem.

To avoid this issue entirely I thought that I might as well order a bottle of resin now. I am mainly going to use the machine to print miniatures for tabletop RPG and Wargaming and the occasional terrain piece, though I am going to limit the latter.

Here's my question for those of you with experience; What kind of resin should I get for miniature models for Tabletop RPGs? I have read a few articles and the PrimaCreator Value does seem to fit the job, but Elegoo Rapid from what I can see looks to be fine as well, but there are some reports that models with Elegoo are a bit brittle. So... what kind of resin do you guys reccomend for what I'm gonna use it for, I can see that there's a few other people using their Photon for similar purposes so rain your wisdom upon me!

THANKS!

Stupid question: but all these miniatures, painted to the tiniest details, what are they used for?

Just got my first 3D printer Friday it’s a photon s, I’m new to this and don’t know much, my main use of this will be for making my own 1/24-1/25th scale model car parts.
Is there a way to take a picture of a part and make a 3D model out of it? Is there a program I can download that can do it? Thanks in advance, go easy on me lol I’m definitely new to this so if I sound stupid I apologize

Hi guys. Ive recently changed from Anycubic resin to Monocure Rapid and I seem to be having a few issues with my supports breaking at about the same height each time. I would greatly appreciate any help with this. I have attached three photos to demonstrate my problem. Thanks

First part ive designed and printed. Adjustable drop hitch for hot wheels scale cars. Made it so I can glue the ball at whatever height to compensate for the lift or drop on the truck I'm working on. I'm in love with this machine so far. Been about 7 years since I've done any cad or printing work. These resin machines are amazing, and for a stupid proce considering what I almost paid years ago for a make bot when they first came out

Got given some standard grey elegoo (not the rapid). Never used this. There is only 1 setting in the spreadsheet, wondered if anyone has used it?

Edit: or are all of their resins "rapid resins". looking at their website it looks like the same bottle I got

Does Monocure Rapid Clear yellow over time, ie if I get a nice clear print and do not paint/seal it will it remain clear, or eventually yellow?

Does anyone have any tips for printing lithophanes? I've been trying for a while to make a gift for my Great Aunt but this always happens. At least 1 edge will detach from the plate and result in a failure ultimately. My guess is there just isn't enough contact to the plate to hang on and gradually pulls away, so the fix would be to increase that surface area... but I'm not sure the best way to implement that. All my other prints have been perfect with the same settings, even printed a Baby Yoda in the same vat of resin with the same settings... ?‍♂️

I experimented with using supports but that didn't work cause it seemed to introduce a lot of wobble which created layer shifts. I did get a full print when I angled it, but that was also failure. The only info about resin lithophanes I could find was a FormLabs piece and I was already doing everything advised there haha.

Resin is Monocure Rapid Cure in the Photon S. Thanks in advance for any tips / advice ?
