Just a sneak peek at my latest project--its far from done ? About 65 hours print time into this bad boy. Waiting on some epoxy putty so I can fill some gaps and put the rest of it together, then paint.

My first DLP design,
A floating Gopro handle with quick connector.
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3895711
Hollowed (1.5 mm) with two drain holes (1.5 mm) (used meshmixer)
I printed it with Siraya blu, at 0.05 mm layer height, with no supports.
sealed the drain holes at the end with epoxy. added also the original stl for those who want to play with it. 翻譯年糕

So my brother says "Hey, Max (my nephew, who is autistic) has this crane he adores. Uses the hook like a wrecking ball to knock down Lego's and such. Could you make an actual wrecking ball?

Feckin' A right, I can.

But in order to scale it to the crane, it's a little too wide for the build plate. So I cut it in half. (My FDM printers are all printing in various states of less than optimal right now, so that's not the solution I need.)

Wondering... best way to glue the halves together? I do that with FDM prints all the time. Not sure of the best methods and products for resin. (Elegoo grey)

Use epoxy? CA glue? Resin + UV?

Please advise. Thanks in advance.

OK so this has probably been discussed numerous times but.. Glueing minis printed on the photon in parts.. Help. I have tried super glue and 2 part epoxy etc and sanded parts so they key together but nothing so far works great and parts either fall apart or snap off easily. Any advice, recommendations or products you use would be appreciated

When final fitting and gluing parts together I sometimes need to do gap filling. Useful little tool I printed on my FDM in nylon filament - measuring device for small amounts of epoxy putty - circular indents go from 5mm to 10mm across - squidge in part A, smooth off the top, pick it out and repeat for part B. I used nylon cause it's very strong. Maybe could be done in a tough resin.

I've discovered something that the group may find useful. If you grind up your cured supports / failed prints to a fine powder, when mixed with epoxy resin glue to make a stiff paste it makes a great filler.

Still gotta get a black wash on it, but I'm pretty happy w the results. The wings were a pain in the ol patoot to glue in, so I used that resin pen thing someone here suggested to keep it in place while the epoxy cured.

don't suppose anyone on here is a chemist? I need to know a little more about the MSDS sheets of some of the resins, as the MSDS sheets often list 'harmful to aquatic life' however so does epoxy resin, and this is used in the manufacture of yachts, so not sire if this applies once cure is complete?

Has anyone used the dyes/pigments meant for use with epoxy resins with any success in their photon? I've seen these on ebay, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-13pcs-set-UV-Epoxy-Color-Dye-Resin-Pigment-Jewelry-Making-Handmade-DIY-Crafts/153513877220 and it's given me ideas. 翻譯年糕
