Hi Guys, Recently got the photon S and thanks to some helpful people here got a successful print of the test file from anycubic.

I've gone to print my first file, added supports etc and thought I was ready to print.

However as soon as I plug a USB with the file into the printer the touchscreen becomes non-responsive, not even recovering if the USB is removed. I delete the file off the USB and it doesn't freeze the photon when plugged in again.

I tthought it might be the crappy included USB so tried another USB without any success either.

My process for preparing the file had been:
1)auto orient and supports from prusa slicer
2)import stl into chitubox to export as .photon
3)use photon validator to check for islands
4)fix islands in chitubox
5)export as photon from chitubox

When I first started getting the freezing I tried exporting from chitubox as a stl and importing into photon workshop and exporting from there as a pws but still having the same issue

I find using a hemostat style clamp to hold the raft of my smaller prints helps when trimming supports.

Boston Dynamics mini dog-bots from thingiverse. My post-apocalypse-world players are going to run into a nest of feral military robots tonight. These things are so creepy in real life. Should be a fun encounter.

Hey all, looking for some advice from the hive mind please...

Set a print running last night, nothing unusual about the slice etc, followed all the usual steps in chitu that I’ve done for months, headed off to bed.
Came to the printer this morning expecting to see the usual completion screen only to find it back at the home screen and the bed still in the vat.
First though was “you prat you forgot to hit start” but on closer inspection it appears that around 5-8mm had printed then everything appeared to stop.

Has anyone had this happen to them? I’m a bit lost where to start with this one as there were no clues / errors.

Hello everyone, I'm new with all this 3d printing stuff and I would like to know which brand of resin you use for printing miniatures and why you use this specific brand?
For my part I just finish the translucent green coming with the photon S (not quite satisfied with it) and I will try the eco blue from anycubic.

So I bought the soy-based resin and have to say I am impressed. It's way less smelly. Less brittle when cured and the details are astonishing. It still doesn't smell much 'healthy' But the reduction of smell is at the factor of around 5. It's ultra quick hardening, as the wavelength is broader at which it cures. I bought a nail-light with 300 to 405 nm and the print takes 5 - 10 minutes to harden significantly.

I'd recommend it to the fullest if the bad smell was your biggest problem far now.
