Well, looks like this printer is going back. According to information that I found the firmware version which this printer lists as 3.4.1, is NOT for a Photon, but for a Fauxton (according to github). The firmware doesn't appear to be upgradable. Hopefully Amazon will take the thing back. Guess we'll see.

Edit: Someone pointed out that this is a Photon S MB, so once I upgraded the firmware with those files it worked fine. Thanks for all the help folks, it's always appreciated.

Could anyone help with this? I just tried to upgrade the firmware on my machine and it won't upgrade. The version it's on is 3.4.1 and the UI is 2.6. I plugged in a USB with the bin and LCD files. My understanding is that the LCD file is supposed run first. It didn't. I tried the .BIN file and it says file format error. Now, I'm trying to go to 4.2.18, so maybe that's too big a jump?

Guys,
When I shake a resin bottle before use, it generates lots of bubbles. What do you think, does it affect anything during print?

so..had a failed print and somehow the broken supports pierced my fep film.

luckily there was minimal resin leakage onto the screen and after removal it works fine.

ordered some new fep film sheets from a third party..fitted...and since then, not one print has stuck to the print bed... levelled it to death and nothing..

tried a new fep sheet and still the same.

so went back and ordered a genuine anycubic fep sheet and it still wont stick to the bed...

files that previously printed no problem are now failing everytime...

any ideas

Anyone know why the printer might stop actually printing but continue to "print" regardless?

It's now happened on 3 occasions, with three different files, and on two different USB sticks, neither of which were the stock one and on all 3 occasions there's been nothing stuck to the FEP.

I don’t suppose any of you kind souls have a small model human skeleton for a kid ? Desk top size , say a foot tall for a grade 3 class. There’s probably models on Thingiverse but I’m so new to resin printing, I don’t know how to prep my models.
