Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團

I recently moved to the Siraya Tech Fast (1kg) ABS-Like Fast Curing Non-Brittle 3D Printing Resin (Grey) . They had their own google doc so I tried to go by that and used these settings in the picture attached.

The overall print quality is .. fine. The support disconnects are fine, but there's a lot of stuck residue on the vat FEP film after every print. Any suggestions for changes to setting to help correct this?

I run my saraiya tech fast grey at 7 bottom layers atb70 seconds and 9second exposure on my photon, I dont get the resin slime very often. Make sure you're in the 4.2.18 firmware if you have an og photon

Ray Powers
2020-03-24 03:09:18

I'll give those a shot next print and see if it solves my problem, thanks!

Fred Bey
2020-03-24 06:43:24

Be careful, the ABS like needs higher exposure than the regular fast resin. When I was running ABS like gray on my og photon, it was more like 13-14 seconds at .050

Fred Bey If Tm's version does not work Ill try that next

Tim Borschel
2020-03-24 08:57:40

Fred Bey I started with it at 11 seconds, but my prints were over exposed and the details were soft, 9 works for me

Scott Pavlich

How old is your lcd? Something like that isn’t generally an exposure problem...though you are about 2 sec higher than I run for that layer

Ray Powers
2020-03-24 21:05:23

Less than 6 months.

Ray Powers
2020-03-24 21:33:20

Tim's numbers seemed to work well. A little spotting on the bottom but nothing strange like the first couple of times.

3D Printing is addicting!! I’ve only had my printer 3 days. And haven’t stoped!! This was made on 3 build plates 5 different parts.

any thoughts on using windsheild fluid as a cleaner? its super cheap and contains ipa/iso etc. it does stink something fierce but with the proper safety steps I think it could work. did a test in the ultrasonic and the prints came out super clean.

If it dont leave residue and paint still sticks go for it. I use gasoline anti ice stuff that is 99% ipa (Well almost pure, but they bottle other stuff too so there might be tiny amounts other stuff too)

Nathan Kopp
2020-03-24 02:30:17

Going to try priming in a bit. Im still rinsing with a small amount of iso in a lettice spinner. Definitely need to rebottle it after and clean the tank. Stinks

Any theories as to why 1/300 aircraft wings slowly curl upwards within a few hours of printing, please? And how to stop this? Using Anycubic red / green, and it happens on any STL, whether my own or downloaded.

So cartoony

Sander van Deijl
2020-03-24 01:58:21

When post-curing, do you cure both sides or only the top?
Cured resin shrinks. When the top of the wing cures faster than the bottom it could curl up due to different states of the resin.

Keith O'Donnell
2020-03-24 01:59:23

Shrinkage.

Peter Martin
2020-03-24 02:00:11

Thanks Sander van Deijl , I'll give the next batch a curing from beneath and see if it changes things.

Richard Humble

Print them vertically. I had it with gun barrels. The already cured layers shrink away from the new layers. If you print vertically this has little effect

Peter Martin good way is to cure in water as helps to hit all sides at once refraction in the water and such

Tony Moger

Curing too fast? Use some form of turn table nose down. Cure slower move light source away more

Scott Colvin

Brklyn Brklyn
2020-03-24 02:27:01

try curing them with the support attached? might keep everything lined up

Christopher Fugate
2020-03-24 02:28:18

If I had to guess, I'd say the top and bottom of the wings are doing final cure at different rates, which is causing the resin to expand/contract on one side at a different rate than on the other, which is warping it.

hi, i have a question how to handle the water after cleaning the model.

first I wash my model with ipa, which I exposure to sun and collect back in plastic bottles for disposal.

secondly I wash the model with warm soap water to get the ipa off. How I have to handle this water? collect it or can I flush it in the toilet?

thanks, Peter

Cure the water and strain it a few times.

Laurence Camley
2020-03-24 01:00:24

I would put the water in a clear bottle, leave it out in the sun somewhere safe then pass it through a coffee filter before pouring it down the drain. Theres enough plastic in the water ways as it is.

Oleksandr Panforov
2020-03-24 01:03:48

Do not flush it, that's for sure. Most resins are a disaster for the environment.
My flow is the following: cure used IPA and water, filter the cured resin, and then re-use or, if unusable - leave near the sunny window till evaporates.

Stefan Giudici
2020-03-24 01:13:36

There's no need to use water in the first place

Stefan Giudici

Question. Where can I get a new LCD for my Photon Zero? mine has a dent in it that resulted in a dead pixel and right now I'm not sure if support will get me another one. I'm still going round and round with them and if I cant get one from them I want to know where I can get one.

That turned out terrible. Great big section of missing supports. I'm certain this is a Chitubox problem so I have joined the Chitubox FB page and will join their forum, also. See my previous posts on this matter. Can anyone suggest a fix?

Have you tried prusa, Ive not had trouble with their supports?

Nathan Kopp
2020-03-24 01:03:07

Can you post a shot of the slicer in chitubox so we got a clue on what it should look like

TJ Robichaux
2020-03-24 01:21:28

You should slice the file again and look layer by layer from the bottom up. I recently had chitubox totally not slice a layer that would be during the support printing. It was like layer 15-20 for me. I had to reload the model and resupport it to fix t he issue. Anytime I sliced the model I had already put supports in it happened. When I redid it there was no issue. But check layers first because i dont know if this is what happened to you.

Pico Elgin
2020-03-24 01:29:24

I use Prusa SL1 because it's so easy to use. The supports are there, but a section of them are not printing until about 1/2 way up. It's very odd.

Pico Elgin
2020-03-24 01:35:03

Chitu box.

Pico Elgin
2020-03-24 01:42:02

I've tried resliceing, This is the second time this has happened. Here is last nights print. The supports didn't start on the outside edge like today's, but then it started forming then had a memory error.

Pierre Eichel
2020-03-24 02:19:33

I would guess it's a problem with the fep tension. Tensioned too tight, so the middle supports come off fine, but the edges stay on it

Pico Elgin
2020-03-24 02:25:33

I don't think so. The base underneath the missing supports is fine.

Pico Elgin
2020-03-24 02:31:15

I have updated to the newest version of Chitubox and sliced it again. Now have the printer humming away. Another thought - maybe malfunctioning electronics in the printer?

Pierre Eichel
2020-03-24 03:44:39

Pico Elgin the base is a strong piece, the supports are small tiny surfaces

André Nettermann
2020-03-24 05:32:56

I don't think it's a chitubox issue. as mentioned in your previous post, I've encountered the exact same error. my model was supported in another program however and then imported into chitu. so, at best, it at least cannot be the chitubox support generation.

André Nettermann
2020-03-24 05:33:47

very interesting point.

Pico Elgin
2020-03-24 06:52:06

It's not Chitubox. It's Photon. Looking at the prints from yesterday and today, I realized that the section size was the same. It's 12 mm high, but an unknowwn width, near 28 mm.

Pico Elgin
2020-03-24 07:00:08

The above print was placed long ways on the build platform, due to its size. This print was placed at 90 degrees.. See the 12 mm cut-out? This has to be a Photon glitch in the electronics somewhere, blocking a section of the print. Not only does it angle left to right, but from front to back, a little bit. Guess I will check the warranty. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you fix it?

Pico Elgin
2020-03-24 07:54:36

See my post about the 12 mm "section" taken out of the supports.

Chris Roberts
2020-03-24 23:17:44

Pico Elgin I had similar issue after replacing the FEP and using a new exposure setting. I didn't have my FEP tuned properly. And the new settings were under exposed leaving the base and supports attached and nothing attached to the supports.
It appea rs at some point during your print there was enough surface tension on the plate to finally pull the stuff stuck to the plate off the FEP but at an unusual angle.
It doesn't appear to be an electronic problem. But a combination of exposure and FEP tension.

Pico Elgin
2020-03-25 21:16:46

I have finally found the problem. I was under exposing the layers. They were 100 u, exposed at 16 seconds. That worked reasonably well the first time I tried it, in the print of the front of the model, but the rear of the model had larger volume and that didn't work so well. Here is an image of a print with a torn piece and lots of glitches in the supports.

Pico Elgin
2020-03-25 21:18:58

I decided to use Anycubic white, which I've had some experience with. The print was perfect.
