inally the last of the Thanksgiving party members. This time I was given the task of giving a Kel Dor a Heavy Repeater Blast Rifle.
Only problem was that no one makes any Kel Dor miniatures. So I took a base miniatures from @skull_forge_studios and grabbed a full sized mask from Thingiverse. With a lot of manipulation, I came up with what I thought would work.

Only it didn't. The sphere I used inside the head did not fully fill the cavities...so parts of the head crumpled. But much like the earlier wookie , immediate need gave way to inspiration. With my recent UK trip in mind I put a Scottish tam on him and painted it and the scarf in a plaid pattern.

Hey Folks, I've been lurking for a while reading up on everything before i start printing. I have a few questions about some of the settings in Chitubox.

I've read the reference data sheet for the Anycubic White resin that ill be using and cant seem to find any reference to certain settings. Mostly the ones on the right side. Should i be worried about any of these?

Also, I'm pretty much only going to be printing D&D minis, any advice on settings that worked for you and advice on how to place them before printing?

Any one make a cure box using that flexible mirror material, does it reflect well or should I use glass mirror.??? Going to build one

I don't know why the photon S halt(touch screen not respond and Z axis stopped) when i print overnight for 10hours, anyone know why? I can say "i am too young to print"

Hello, New... I just ordered the Photon (non-s) for super cheap. I'll be ordering resin and a few other things from Amazon shortly. This is all very foreign to me. I'm a huge mini painter, and own tons (which is what prompted me to order the 3d printer). I can't afford to keep spending retail prices for existing minis...

I've watched some setup videos, and reviews, and here I am... Still a bit confused about a few aspects of which I have no experience.

Few questions:

Venting is a must. I've existing 4" vent tubing to the exterior of my house (sitting unused for a vent hood I never installed). My plan is to purchase an inline fan (4" variety) and run the end of the vent hose to the back of the printer. I've seen some 4" flanges on Amazon cheap, similar to what I've seen people "printing" on other machines to use. Does this sound viable? How big is the rear vent area?

Slicing? I've no experience here. I just downloaded Chitubox? So I'll import files into this? and then do some modification to the files, put them onto a flash drive which I plug into the printer? Can someone link me to a good video or instructions on what is involved in prepping a file?

I'd like to print off models to use in D&D games, and have heard there's a ton of free content available. I'd like to create a "personal use" library of minis to print. Where do I look?

Lastly, I am planning to snag the Photon Anycubic resin, unless there's another suggestion?

Any other advice or directions would be greatly appreciated.

ps. I looked for some of the answers to these questions, but there was so much it became hard to find the answers in one place.

So I finally got a for real first print! Thanks to everyone for your tips! I just needed to up the exposure for the resin I was using.
I’m using a grey Anycubic resin, and I think it’s set at 14s after the base layers (8).
I was printing out some terrain for Kingdom death, and the tiles aren’t really flat... also the detail seems to be not as good as my Cr-10.
I also tried to print them flat the first time, and that failed. So I did a 15% tilt on the tiles and it did print, but not completely flat.
So I’m going to look into increasing the resolution and maybe up the exposure some? Should I add more base layers to prevent warping?

Well shoot. I printed these two with my photon using anycubik clear. Any ideas as to what went wrong? I'm using default settings on the resin as far as I know, and then I cleaned off the clear models in 99% IPA, and after curing in UV they came out orange/yellow. ?‍♂️
