Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » IPA

Heating up supports--what is the safest way to do this? I imagine taking a print that's been cleaned in IPA, putting it in a ziplock baggie and heating up the ziplock under a hot water faucet (so as not to get any residue from the resin in my drains). But is this dangerous because of the IPA? Originally I thought I might fill a ziplock with hot water, put the print in it and let it soak, but then that means I need to dispose of the water safely--can't dump it down the drain and refill. Just want to avoid contaminating my sewer. Thoughts? 翻譯年糕

Hi there! I’m working with the green translucent resin that came with my Photon, and I’m also considering printing clear resin tonight. The object in the picture is 4mm tall, it was cleaned in IPA (in ultrasonic tank) and it’s not cured yet. Layer height was 0.02 at 6 secs exposure using a regular Photon. I have a couple of questions, if you can help:

1- Is there any optimal workflow for clear/translucent resins? This looks too washed out and opaque. I like the emerald glossiness and translucency of the object just out of the printer, but now... It seems that there is a trade-off between detail (obtained with IPA) and translucency/crystality of the final object. I have heard about not using IPA (then what?) or not curing and applying a gloss spray. Any ideas? A bit lost here. I suppose that the workflow for clear resins apply to green translucent too.

2- Inside the white circle, it looks like the tiny pentagon has some negative space filled with resin. The holes are there under a loupe, but their triangular shape isn’t perfect. This could be overexposing, right? Or am I too demanding for a 4cm object with this level of detail? FYI the tiny pentagon inside the white circle is 4mm high.

Thx a lot!

Would you guys bother removing these little dried bubbles of resin? If so would you apply ipa directly to the FEP? To a cloth?

Just changed a leaking fep , had one minor failed print that i "scraped" IPA´d off ..the fep is now leaking again , are they this fragile or am i being clumsy or unlucky ?

Okay, very excited as my Anycubic Photon arrived today...but realized that while I have already most of the necessary bits (IPA, gloves, etc), I forgot to order a UV nail device. So I was looking through Amazon.co.uk for something suitable and there seems to be a variety of items. So which of these UV nail things is recommended?

How long do you guys generally bathe your prints? I've heard "minutes" as well as "half an hour." I do pre-wash with an aquarium stone and then post-wash in still IPA. (Still waiting to pull the trigger on a sonic cleaner.) 翻譯年糕

How long does everyone go before curing their dirty ipa bath and filtering it? Like how many washed prints? I've tried but by the time i do it, there's so much resin and so little ipa left that its clogged every strainer I've used. i know the solution could just be dont wait as long and let it build up as much, but I'm trying to figure out a good balance. I don't want to be cleaning dirty ipa so often it becomes a hindrance to my work flow after all.

2 weeks of learning to use the photon.
Using a cr10s fdm printer for 2 years.

1. Learn to level.
2. Learn to tune your fep (part of leveling).
3. Acetone cleans uncured resin better than ipa.
4. This one is on going, chitu box is good, but learn how to use the prussia slicer, and validator.
Prussia slicer supports seem better than chitu box. Blue photos are chitu box supports, but the actual print has prussia supports, alot less and a cleaner print.

I hope this helps some people ?
