Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » LASS

Has anyone noticed FEP sticking to the glass, and more of a thing - has anyone noticed print problems due to FEP sticking to the glass?

It's not resin. I have a lot of experience with resin printing am pretty familiar with resin leaking and sticking to LCDs. This is more like saran wrap sticking to a really clean flat surface.

I owned another printer with a very weak Z-axis, and basically what people found was that when you really *thoroughly* cleaned the surface of the FEP and LCD (no screen protector in this other printer!), the two would get stuck to each other. The LCD could then get damaged. Because the Z-axis was weak, as well, prints could fail because the Z-axis would skip steps.

The solution there was to either use tape to space the LCD or add a very thin layer of talc. I'm doing some fairly high resolution prints, though, so I don't want to risk all the extra stuff reducing my print resolution.

Anyone had any experiences using standard resin fillers like milled glass to enhance the properties of the resin?

I've just ordered some to test out but would be interested to see if anyone has done the same ?

A question - I am using a mask provided with photon by now, but consider to get something serious, integral mask+glasses. Do you think this one (gas mask version) makes sense? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32866949857.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.167859dfO0UAFo&algo_pvid=1b82227b-63d5-4801-ba52-7483e6287a3d&algo_expid=1b82227b-63d5-4801-ba52-7483e6287a3d-20&btsid=c847ee34-9810-43d1-898d-36d510b55470&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_1,searchweb201603_52 翻譯年糕

I have mentioned this before but is is important to repeat.
Get a pair of glasses that are osha rated. You get two chances to wear them. The left chance or the right chance. Try working blind on a project. Even if you never think you need them, it is too late when there is a metal chip in your eye. Resin is sharp and liquid resin can burn your cornea.
I always wear gloves and dispose of them but even if you don’t believe me on gloves, get glasses. It’s cheap and will save a lot of heartache.
There is nothing worse than seeing a student who put work into his craft and learned a lot, who went blind. He can work but it’s a lot harder to read an oscope when you can’t see the face.

I would like to report a great experience with Anycubic recently!
Just over a week ago my main board in my Photon (classic) had signs of being dead. Having bought the printer in August I was out of the Amazon return deadline, so dreaded trying to get a warranty repair or replacement with a company in China.
But I was really pleasantly surprised.
Last week I contacted Anycubic via their official UK Amazon store and told them about the problem, and that I had followed the instructions in their YouTube faulty motherboard diagnosis video.
Initially, I did not think they had responded, as in my Amazon message page, I had not realised there was a "buyer/seller" tab, where within 24 hours they had responded to me. I found this last friday!
They had responded that the fastest way for me to get a replacement would be by buying a new main board from their Amazon store, and once it had shipped they would refund me...
I was slightly skeptical, but I ordered the board on the friday night and on Monday it arrived.
Tuesday I fitted it, and have been up and running with my printer again all week.
Many thanks to Anycubic, in particular their customer care lady Jessi, who was really helpful in resolving this, and even provided some links on Amazon with discount codes for buying their resins cheaper!
All in all, I am really impressed with them.
I just hope they can release the source code for the new Photon and stick to what they promised they would do with rebranding the photons with the new board as "Photon Updated", as I would really love this group and Photonsters to get along with Anycubic, it is one thing I really loved about the photon and the photon community... Anyway, just thought I would write a positive experience with Anycubic and give them some credit where it was due!

Hi all, i’ve just finished my first print with my new Photon S and all was going well, but.. I washed the vat using alcohol and paper towel as the manual recommended, and at the end, the FEP film does not look fine at all. It’s blurred and less clear than before. Honestly I was hoping this behaves similarly to a window glass which can be wiped to quite clear.
Does this affect the print quality in the future? I mean the UV light should go across the film properly and this blur might cause issues.. or?..

Photon Motherboards.
With all this talk of motherboards, my inner autism is itching about details.
Has anyone got a photo of their motherboard they can share?
I have pictures of my motherboard in my Photon Classic (Chitu V2.9) and I have pictures of a PhotonS (Anycubic V1.4.0,) but I am interested in seeing any other versions, especially the PhotonUpdated or Fauxton (Anycubic v1.9.0)
Anyone got any pictures? In particular I am interested in the claims that the V1.9.0 has no ethernet port and if that is the case, how else the board differs. 翻譯年糕

I've just discovered that ChiTu Box can read GCODE and preview it. We could do all sorts of crazy infills using classic slicers (Cura, Slic3r, Simplify3D, etc.) with settings adjusted in a way that ChiTu box will produce reasonable outputs... I'll play with it more and post results.
