After over 200 print jobs taking anywhere from 4 to 11 hours each, most of the time running back to back jobs, I will have to say that being completely satisfied with my original Photon, is an understatement!!! Definitely the best first 3D printer I could have asked for!! Highly recommended!!! My original Photon actually outruns my 2nd printer, the Photon S !! AND... still the least expensive printers of this class and the least expensive resins !!! These pics are just a few of my original sculpts that I printed on the Anycubic Photon !! Hope you like!

Ready for the next paint project / ready for the weekend :) Wish there would be more models from these classic adventure games out there but alas they are far and few between

Not trolling. Genuine question.

I don't care about "winning an argument" and I ABSOLUTELY don't want people to be scared of these machines. They're fun and any piece of equipment is completely safe so long as you know what you're doing. But I would just like to get some concrete facts if possible for my own piece of mind and to put our hobby into proper perspective.

As a consumer it's been very difficult to scrounge up definitive facts about the health effects of resin. Almost every scientific study must caveat it'self with "May lead to" "Has shown signs of" or "X, is not yet fully understood". That's just the nature of studies. They can't deal in absolutes of "Yes" or "No".

I am interested to know what the main difference is between traditional resins such as fiberglass resin, urethane resin, and other casting resins. Because I know for a fact that many of them DO emit hazardous fumes. They say so on the can and advise you to wear a respirator and eye protection because of it. Many people are saying respiratory protection is unnecessary with printer resins. I realize the UV resins are not the same but for the sake of knowledge I'd like to know in what ways. What is the actual science behind it? What are the biological effects if any? You have the floor if you know the answer and it would put an end to all this petty back and forth. How are those other resin fumes hazardous and most 3d printer resins not?

Speaking only from my own experience, I print in a non-ventilated garage (yes I'm working on that don't worry) and many times have noticed that my throat is irritated if I stay in there too long with the resin printer running. As a result I have to open up the garage and circulate the air pretty frequently. And no it's not "mold in the garage" because I've observed this in my last place too.

Just for the heck of it I saw my doctor who referred me to a toxicologist. I explained all about the resin and showed them what I use. The toxicologist didn't seem to have any clue what to tell me. Just sorta sent me off with a "Yea there's not much data out there."
So yes I went to an actual doctor. The only doctor anyone could think to recommend and they had no idea. So any rational person upon seeing that nobody has solid answers would just err on the side of caution. Especially when it takes almost no effort or money to do so.

Say you drop a modest amount of resin on your pants. Like 1/3 of a glass maybe. What would be your process? Are those pants rescuable? :D

Hey guys, so good and bad news. Bad news is im in dire need of some money due to a fire that burned me out of my home, and everyone is fine and safe. BUT Good news Im selling a bunch of my 3D printing stuff. Ive got a Anycubic photon with a 2-3 bottles of resin and cleaning material. And few parts and tools as well as a black light i use to cure and a ultrasonic cleaner. And i think more too but im trying to remember what is all there without actually seeing it. Its currently in my storage, and dont have it right in front of me.

Ive also got a Rostock Max V3 with a bunch of add on's (e3d hotend, 0.8 stepper motors, bmg extruder, some 20 nozzles varying from sizes groups of like 2-3) and lots of parts (wire, tubing, glass bed, arms, hot end, sensors, stepper motors, a magnetic removeable heating bed and more) and few open and unopened spools. And i believe more, but Im trying to remember what it all has, it has been in storage for a few months

So after you've read this whole book of information, im wanting to sell everything for $1700, negotiable. I live in the Seattle Washington area if anyone is interested. please dont hesitate to message me questions. I will get pictures hopefully in the next day, but please if your interested just message me and we can chat. Thanks! Enjoy printing :D

Guys, need some help, opinions .
Using classic photon, resin Phrozen gray. Auto supports from chitubox (medium) and i add some of mine where i believe is needed)
When i print at 0.03 and 6sec normal exposure, the same .stl (In the same print i use 4 times the same stl file)
1 out of 4 fail to print.
Then i increase the exposure time at 9sec and dropped layer height at 0.02 and all files are printed, but i believe i lose detail.
I did a search here and found out that increased normal exposure messes with fine details.
I have contemplating to dropping the normal exposure at 7.5 and see how it goes.

Does details really depend on exposure ? I mean, i can see the detail in the preview of the stl file clearly.
Then when it is printed it looks like it's sanded at some places.
I know i ask too much with no photos to show or anything. But whoever has an experience with phrozen grey and small scale files (1/12) is welcome.

Hey folks, I have a question. Have any of you accidentally moved the build plate down 10mm while less than 10mm off the glass?

Well, I did and it scared the crap out of me!! The motor made a straining sound and I hear a clock. Oh man my heart was in my throat!

The printer seems fine and I’ve printed lots of nice, high res prints since then.

But man, it’s too easy to do, frankly. You’ve often got gloves on, the screen is so small and you press buttons so repeatedly.... The software should lock out the down arrow when it’s set on 10mm and it’s lower than 10 mm. Seriously... why not!? It knows where the build plate is!

Grr.

BTW, I love my Photon S. I’ve printed through about 1200 ml of resin. And it’s awesome. I’ve made lots of 28mm sized miniatures for painting. Often from Heroforge (Black Friday sale for the win!!

Hi,

I have wird question. Anyone here have iphone X, XS or 11? I search about "alternative" glass replacement and this smartphones have almost exact dimmensions like photon's glass. They are narrower, but maybe glasses for them still can be glued as replacement. Based on LCD documentation and iphone's photos, they shout cover screen perfectly, but there will remain a gap in photon mounting point.

Anyone can check that?

I can buy original glass but... here they are overpriced as hell and delivery from china are 1 month minimum. I need replacement ASAP :P

And second question, how thick are photon's tempered glass?
