Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » Anycubic

Hi, I got my photon zero two days ago and cant get the slicing software to open at all, it just wont go past the initialising screen which only stays up for a few seconds then nothing happens. Obviously with the Zero having a different extension to other printers its going to be really hard to get it to work without the software. I have downloaded the file from the Anycubic site and the same thing happens, not sure if my pc is to powerful (windows 10, 8gb, 1gb graphics card), but I am at a lose as I can only print the test file that came with the machine.

I have the latest version of Cura but that doesnt seem to have a setting for the Photon Zero and likewise have downloaded Z Suite.

can anyone help at all

Have you tried ChiChuBox?

Yes but there is no settings for the Zero Ryan sadly

Just go into Chitubox setting and click on add printer. Go to other and select default 1. Type in your resolution and the bed size and rename the profile to a name of your choice.

lol you think 8gb and a 1gb gpu is TOO powerful?! nah man something is likely wrong within your system. do you do yearly os resets? i find not doing so will usually result in issue like this. also i recomend chitubox and prusa slicer over the included software. anycubic's software is just a rip-off version of chitubox with less functionality. even if you dont see settings for your printer, you can enter then manually easily.

EDIT: my LCD screen is probably failing. After the classic "turning off and back on again" made the UV test actually show. So we'll see if that will actually work for now. I've had the printer for like 3.5 months now.
I'm having some problems for the first time since I bought it
I'm using Anycubic gray, 90 secs with 6 base layers, and 6 seconds normal exposure time. I'll get a job done, and then the next job fails.
Does there need to be a cool down time between jobs? Inside the printer was a bit warm.
I did have to reset the z=0 once because for some reason it wasn't going all the way down. I hope something isn't wrong with my printer.
I've had several jobs within the past couple days end up like the picture below.

Lol, I thought it was cheese

Chris Crute

I had something similar and what I discovered was that a job would complete but then the next would fail because of resin left on the fep from the successful one. Not 100% cured but enough to make it fail.

Turned out the LCD was failing and was Curing a 'shadow' on the fep between layers when it should have been dark.

Changed the screen and it was fixed, improvement in print quality too!

Benjamin Matthew Harding
2020-03-29 03:28:02

That might be it. I've also emptied the vat and the fep looked fine. This is the exposure test

Benjamin Matthew Harding
2020-03-29 03:31:27

I think my screen failed. I turned it off and back on again and then it was acting normal...? That's so weird

Chris Crute
2020-03-29 03:34:01

Benjamin Matthew Harding mine looked fine on the exposure test but it was clesrly letting UV through when it shouldn't have.

Benjamin Matthew Harding
2020-03-29 03:37:33

Hmmm.. what's weird for me is it wasn't doing any uv light and then after turning it off and back on, it showed up again. If this doesn't print then I'll have to get a new screen for sure

Chris Crute
2020-03-29 03:39:53

If your screen is old (mine was 14 months old with no dead areas) you may be best doing it anyway, the improvement in print quality very noticeable!

Benjamin Matthew Harding
2020-03-29 03:41:05

It's only 3.5 months old, as I got it for a Christmas gift for myself.

Chris Crute
2020-03-29 03:42:16

Hmmmm, there is no saying how long each one lasts. I've heard of people having them degrade in that time though. I was just lucky.

Dang. Well thanks for your advice. We'll see what happens

I have some problems with my PhotonS.. I have some models for my crawler. I use Chitubox 1.6.3 , with default anycubic photonS profile but models is not right i think that could be related with curing time ? Any suggestions ? It's sticks the platform very well and hard to remove too and resin is ESUN general purpose transparent.

Since it hasn't yellowed at all, it may be possible to increase he exposure a bit more.

looks like the circle could be fixed by putting a heavy support at the lowest point and standing it up a bit straighter.

The lines on the flat part are layer lines. that could be reduced by using antialiasing or standing up straighter

Mi Ha
2020-03-29 03:23:27

Your supports are off. They should support the edge towards the bottom as well. You can remove maybe 70% of the rest because they don't serve any purpose, but that bottom one at the lowest edge is crucial.

Corner of the X shaped rect. lost :(

Nipuna Gunarathne
2020-03-29 03:24:21

You need to support the lowest points

罗西晟
2020-03-29 04:29:42

Like the people before me already stated, your supports placement is wrong... You need to place a support at the point closest to the buildplate, in this case right on the edge.
As far as we can see in the pictures, your support is connected to the par t higher than where the lowest point of the part is.
This causes the edge 'to curl up' because it actually stays on the FEP until the rest of the part is printed and pulls it off the FEP.

Anybody else having a hard time getting any response from Anycubic support? My LCD screen is failing the detection test (whole screen lights up). I put in a ticket and stated that I had already tried updating the firmware and re-seating the connector. The response I got was to update the firmware and re-seat the connector! I replied back to them stating I had already done that but I did it again and the screen still fails. That was about 10 days ago and have heard nothing since despite asking for a response 3 times!

Hey Scott. I also had a service ticket open plus I ordered a new LCD screen. I just received contacted in the last couple days. The person from anycubic said that they apologized for the delay but they aren't able to have as many people working to make the products so there is a shortage.

Does anyone have any experience with this exposure test? What’s your opinion of the result? (I know this isn’t the preferred test, but I’ve given up on reading the other one, every time someone posts one I try to read it and EVERYONE picks very different settings than I saw ? .) This one is exposed with 0.05 layer height, with 115s on the bottoms layers and 18s normal. The circled area are thin risen areas I accidentally crunched while cleaning. Resin is AnyCubic Gray. Thanks for any insights you can offer!

Could anyone help me with these lines. I don't think its z wobble. The lines are perfectly uniform. So there are 2 sets. The strait lines that go right across. And the wavy lines you can see on the raised section. . I'm using anycubic grey ecoresin. All prints up to this point have been perfect.

Gary Slovinsky
2020-03-29 00:51:38

I got you beat, my last print had evenly spaced half-tubes along the vertical face. Really bizarre. But i might have an idea what caused it. I accidentally deleted my photon from chitubox. I reloaded the default photon settings, but i believe i set it up wrong to a DLP mirror printer instead of a LCD mirror one.

And I need to update my firmware from 4.2.12 to 4.2.18 so I can take advantage of anti-aliasing.

Ryan Smith
2020-03-29 00:52:18

Gary Slovinsky could be supports melting into the model.

Gary Slovinsky
2020-03-29 00:58:52

Ryan Smith nope. Its s vertical surface and i neglected to mention the half tube shapes were parallel to the build plate not vertical. And no supports were used. The STL was from thingiverse to make the easy leveling jig.

Still pretty new myself, but i'll take a crack at it. It's looking like you lifting and retraction speeds are a bit high. Also could be your orientation of the print to the plate that could be effecting it at those layers of the print.

Here's a pretty good link to explaining how orientation and lift speeds can effect prints. https://www.instructables.com/....../5-Settings-to......

Brian Rhodes
2020-03-29 00:04:53

Well I believe I solved the issue with some better places supports. This model has been a pain due to such high detail and the fact I want it on my desk to look at when I’m done

Brian Rhodes
2020-03-29 03:26:23

Ok so here is the update as we near the final quarter of printing today.......the issue was poor support placement to hold the edge of the feet evenly. I used the defective print as a starting point to fix the supports up. Pictures will be added once it’s done

Daniel McCarthy
