Hey guys, I just printed my test cube the other day with absolutely perfect success, looked amazing! I have a great deal of things id love to start printing, however, im kinda worried ill mess them up horribly. The whole idea with supports and the like is freaking me out. Fill vs Platform etc. I narrowed down the first model I wanted to print and figured id check with you guys first to see how it looks for supports. I also downloaded the File Validator but cant seem to get it to work? It opens but seems to be unable to open any file I try to get it to open with * Just nothing happens when I try to open something in it * . As for now, after watching a ton of videos and reading, figured id just pop a screenshot in here. thoughts and comments?

Man , resin prints are too brittle ,i break everything i print.
Blu and abs like incoming ,is that stuff marginally or much better in terms of brittleness ?

Carbon filter Merv rating?

I want to reduce odor pumped into the atmosphere. Does carbon filters help with this? What Merv rating would I need? I have a chart for what merv rating needed and their chemicals. However, I have trouble finding what chemicals are in the "ELEGOO standard grey photopolymer Resin for LCD" Elegoo does not state any chemicals they use. Formlabs shows what their resin uses, but people claim to barely smell it. I assume formlabs uses a different ingredient all together.

Does anyone have a photo of the Elegoo ABS-like bottle?
I bought two bottles and both say standard on them and the prints are brittle so I'm beginning to think I was shipped the wrong thing

Hey! I see this come up a bunch here and I wanted to share my experience.

I spent several years developing LED strip lighting products.

Standard white LEDs use 480nm Blue Diodes and Phosphors, which take blue light and convert it to yellow and green to make White light.

480mm is the standard blue diode, royal blue/deep blue leds are available but their output is much dimmer so they are not used to make white LEDs (less efficient) or RGB LEDs (difficult to match diode brightness).

All diodes are slightly different, in terms of wavelength, output, temperature, voltage, etc.

Despite what the Google Images searches will show, 480nm LEDs DO have output all the way down to UV (although not much). The curve is more like an asymptote.

You don't need a Spectral Irradiance Meter to test this just turn on any RGB strip to blue and you will see fluorescence.

Do your White Task/Desk/Work LEDs have enough UV to cure resin? IMO, maybe, depends on the resin sensitivity at higher wavelengths and the intensity of the lights.

Is it better than fluorescent or sunlight? Absolutely.
Just something to keep in mind.

(Edit for clarity maybe)

I keep printing toys for the kids, and the kids keep breaking them. Is there a reasonably priced resin that's reasonably durable? I saw an impressive video of a tough FormLabs resin that's $175 , which is crazy... even if I did know it would work with this printer. There's some resins in the $35-$50 range that are advertised as "not brittle," or, "ABS-like" which doesn't instill a ton of confidence in me that it will be durable... does anyone have any experience with a tougher resin?
