Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » EX

Hi, Photon S owner here since September.

Just want to tell about my solution to the smell while printing. I thought about different enclosures and vents for some time. Then I thought, why not try the complete opposite and keep it inside the printer.

So I took the whole casing apart, popped out the windows and removed the two small fans. Then covered up the holes left by the fans with some packing tape. Next was applying a string of silicone sealer at all joints and around the windows while putting it together again (this also had the bonus feature of removing some rattling noice I've had during prints).

To seal the door I put a light coat of oil on the edge of the door, and a thin bead of silicone on the other edge, then closed the door and let it sit overnight.

Having tried this for a month now, I can say it's a huge difference. Now it only gives away smell when you open the door.

Total cost: one small tube of sealer and some elbow grease.

Experimented with lithophanes for the first time this weekend. Finally found settings that I was happy with and modeled/printed two of my brothers a display of their three favorite Magic cards.

As I expected ... I FAILED on my first impression with anycubic photon.

I tried to print my first ring with anycubic green resin, and the construction of the ring stayed all deformed, and I have no idea why the holes were covered with resin and some parts were deformed, this is strange. Someone please understand small parts and small details, tell me if this is because of the configuration I left on the green resin chitubox (brand: anycubic, NOT castable). I left a image below, of the settings in the chitubox that I left in the file before impression and images of details of impression.

So this is print unsuccessful print 7 out of 10. Not sure what I’m doing wrong to get these objects to print. I’ve tried releveling the bed every print. I even move the printer inside because it’s been 50 degrees outside during our cold snap. Any tips I can look into besides switching resins because it’s my next move. This is the anycubic grey resin I thought would be the most compatible because it was the same company. The printer was on a stable surface and I have tried leveling using both the paper method and the flint reed method. I turned up my printer settings to 75 sec for the bottom layers over the 60 recommended. And 11 sec per layer. I have on and off at 1 sec. this came as a recommendation from a YouTube channel 3DprintPros. It’s a new printer with less than a week in service. All I’ve calibrations look good as well. Any help is appreciated! I can’t give up.

Does anyone here have experience curing prints in winter sun? How long does it take? My shipment uv lights has been delayed by 2 weeks and I'm itching to get started.

I am new in resin printing, just received my new Photon, after a failed impression due to a problem of setting exposure times, this is my first successful impression.I put a lot of exposure time to normal layers (12 seconds) so I think the print quality was not so good, but I would like to hear comments and recommendations

Hello all, my printer has seem to stop 3/4 of the way through a print and is now showing the main menu. It doesn't look as if it thinks it's done it just stopped. No power outage no reason for it to stop printing. Can anyone help? Has anyone experienced a similar thing?

Hi all, just getting started with my Photon and I want to try and print a DnD miniature. I'm brand new to resin printing and this slicer, so I used auto supports, is this many support pillars normal??? It seems super excessive.

Hello everyone! I'm an old FDM-Veteran learning about how (M)SLA printing works, and I must say it's quite a challenge and a hell of a messy process.. I have read the FAQ in full and already learned quite a few things, so thanks for that!

Right now I'm fighting with getting my prints to stick to the build platform. I have managed to do some prints and I do know to avoid cross sections of my print that are bigger than the bottom layers to always keep the suction forces lower than that of the bottom layers (via model rotation or hollowing it out), but there's still things I do not fully grasp, such as the relation of normal vs bottom layer exposure times (how many bottom layers are recommended and how long should the exposure time be?) and if bottom layers should rather be one huge flat slab or rather have some holes inbetweeen to reduce suction forces.

Also, I do kinda wonder why there are so few settings you can play with in regards to layer thickness and/or exposure times. F.ex. I'm really missing variable layer height such as from the Prusa Slicer (which does SLA now, too, but not for the Photon!) or the option to make the bottom layers (also the bottom supports) thicker than the rest to improve stickyness and/or speed up printing. It just seems utterly stupid and pointless to also print the bottom layers in superfine 0.025mm resolution, especially when they're set to 60 seconds exposure...
