So having a few issues ever since swapping from the original photon sliced to the photon workshop. So I then decided to swap to chitu and still having issues ? these are my printer settings. And here’s a pic of the failed print. It’s like the supports weren’t enough but I used heavy supports and a fair few of them too! Any suggestions would be grateful!! My original sliced settings are pretty much the same except for 12 seconds exposure time instead of 8

Has anyone found a way to raise the platform higher when pausing a print...
It pauses so low i can't see the back side of the build plate.
I don't dare remove the plate, lest it doesn't sit exactly where it was when i put it back.

Just had a 15 hour print continue all night a failure i couldn't see.

Hi all, I am sorry to keep posting on the same topic but I am at a loss. I have had my photon for 15 months. No issues. I have printed literally hundreds of minis (300+) never had any real issues. However I "paused" a print and the machine kept going. I stopped the print. Cleaned up the mess, tried again. Fans wouldn't start (even after powering off etc). I was told to flash the firmware with the latest version. I am using the standard photon with no upgrades. So I went to the 4.2.19 version. Fan started working again but now my prints will not work at all. I get phantom printing on the sides of the print. I made sure via the normal tests that the UV light is working, I leveled the bed (a few times), set the zero height (a few times) and I still get arbitrary printing in areas that are outside my models print area, as well as attached to it. non of the extra printing is on the preview. I made sure my glass under the vat is clean with no debris, I have changed and tuned my FEP. I still get the same problem

To add to my woes, I decided to try out the new Photon Workshop V2. Noticed that when trying to add supports it does a really bad job of calculating supports automatically, and it does not show like the standard slicer where supports are needed. Have a look at the pic, how is this rook stress test going to print with this few supports. I have totally lost my confidence now which is causing me to second guess everything. Any help without bashing would be appreciated. I know I am trying to solve too many problems at one time but I am at a total loss. Also, if someone could attach the original test file (the cube on the stand) that would be appreciated. Somehow I lost it.

Hi fellow printers, I hope this is an acceptable place to ask, I need some advice on what to expect when dealing with the Anycubic hardware support.

Today my barely used Photon made a "pzzzt" sound and then acrid smoke billowed out from the body while the display screen flickered. I switched it off immediately and then lodged a ticket with Anycubic. I suspect it's related to the Z axis as it's movement has was sluggish, it kind of accelerated then decelerated, rather than the responsive and steady movement of other machines I've seen.

I've just received a response from support instructing me to refer to an instructional video, open it up and investigate what burnt/caused the burning. Also to attach a different adapter and try and power it on.

The printer is less than a year old and has only been used a handful of times. Am I at risk of voiding my 12 month warranty by following their instructions to open it up and tinker/investigate things?

Any advice is much appreciated! Thank you.

hey everyone. :) I was wondering about whether it is better to glue the model together before painting it or waiting until after.? the pros of waiting gives me area to get a nice paint job in tight areas but gluing paint to paint is not a good idea from my view and the pro to after is that the gluing gets a better hold.. has anyone tried both or have any insights to this...

Is it even possible to print dice? Evertime I try it goes badly. Flat on bed makes elephant foot. Angles makes them uneven and other angles makes them uneven on another side. I just can't figure out if it's doable. The picture shows it being printed flat on the bed and as you han see there is an elephant foot. So makes it unreliable to roll.

Since I started power cycling the printer before each print, it feels like the number of inexplicable failures has gone down. I don’t have hard evidence for this, do others do this? Does it help?

Edit: for clarification: printer is normally off. What I mean is that the exact process I now follow (even if doing two prints right after each other) is:
* ensure printer is off
* insert usb
* check build plate and vat
* turn on printer
* press print

Just bought a new Anycubic Photon a few days ago. When pressing the "Home" button it squashes the build plate against the LCD screen making the paper unmovable. Their customer service said it should be stopping before the LCD just like my original. It also came with a cracked window from screw being tightened too much and a broken hinge on the door.
I figured it wasn't too bad as there's no stressing sound with the "Home" issue, so I decided to level and print. Then when starting a print, the back half of the build plate pops up cause nothing to stick on the back half. Tried about 6 different prints, as well as using my original build plate. Only the front half stuck.
My first Photon I got a little over a year ago still prints amazing. Some adhesion issues sometimes, but nothing too bad. Just finished the Spiderman diorama by Sanix. Tried the new build plate, so the build plate is fine. They tried to play it off saying I don't know how to level and it's just getting on my nerves now. I've been printing over a year and it took sales 3 days to get back to me after I spammed the shit out of their ticket service when they stopped contacting me.
If there is an easy fix, I would love to know. But after troubleshooting everything, I can't figure out the reason why.
Everything is even, Z-Axis stuff isn't bent, LCD screen is level, and the new build plate worked fine on my old machine.
Now they want me to pay for return shipping as they think it's an issue with my leveling. I'm really starting to hate Anycubic ? A year ago I would have sworn by them.

Printed out some characters from video games.

Turned out nicely.

Scale of 1/35.

Will probably paint them some other time.
