Anycubic Photon Printer Owners 造訪社團 » FDM

I've got a need to print parts that are "esd-safe" and I have several different FDM filaments I can use to obtain this but I'm wondering if anyone knows of a resin that's available that has esd-safe properties? I'd love to be able to crank these parts out on the photon since I need 40 of them and I can fit 3 at a time on the bed. It would also justify the purchase of another printer at work.

Hi, all. I have been printing on an FDM printer for a couple of years now and was excited to take the plunge into resin printing with the Anycubic Photon. Just got mine on Sunday. Unfortunately, I've had nothing but about half a dozen failures thus far.

My USB drive didn't come with the test print, so I sought to print a Benchy. I've leveled the bed several times using both recommended methods (paper or vat), have tried longer bottom exposure times, have cleaned everything with IPA, shaken my resin well after draining to clean, and most recently tried printing at an angle with supports. All the first attempts just gave me an empty build plate with just a thin silhouette on the bottom of the vat.

This last attempt at least got me into the model. Looking at it, I have to guess I'm still somehow sticking to the FEP film and losing the print when the plate rises. I'm using almost standard settings at this point: 0.05, 10, 1, 70, 8 (using ChiTuBox for slicer now). Any recommendations?

Sorry for this quistion, but I dont now anything about resin printers.

Photon Newbie since 24H !

Hello Makers :)
I would share my first experience with my Photon arrived yesterday morning.

Just to introduce myself, having 2 FDM printers and playing since 2 years. My Hobby is figurine and tabletop.

So... My choice was on Photon and not Photon S because of the long experience YOU have here and different existing software and price is low (and for the difference, i can have more resin bootleS)

Photon arrived in V4.2.3_LCD.0/F2.5 and i upgraded it to V4.2.17_LCD/F2.7 immediatly lol.
Ajusting Z Offset more easier than on FDM... (Except my Delta with AutoLevel :P )

1st Print:
I used the ChiTuBox with AA 8X and put a part + AutoSupport > Skin Anycubic Resin => Disaster... In fact, I did not take care of settings in slicer.

2nd Print:
Listen yours voices and just print the sample Cube => Wooh !! Really cool :) (Even if not crystal clear)

3rd Print and up to now:
Using the spreadsheets > Set better settings for Skin color > Printed a Ring and after 2 tabletop

Now: Tried to print the Orc but something went wrong with support.
Would be happy if you can put a link for better settings or How-To regarding Supports.

So... I'm in south of France and we have lot of Sun except today lol.... so, my prints remain soft for the moment and i ordered a little UV lamp in case of.
I read a lot on this group and thank you so much for sharing Good & Bad issue to permit me to learn.
I was really surprised when i can listen to the "Ploc" sound when bed is moving Up&Down but i read than it's a good sound for DLP.

Sharing some pics... Happy to be here.
This Photon is an incredible printer.
I would recommend it to start Resin at reasonnable cost & for the big family you are.

Have Fun !

Printed this object two ways, vertically and horizontally (hollow, with vent holes). Needs supports either way, fewer supports vertically but they are in more visible places. Layers are visible on the top surface when printed horizontally (under very close examination, nothing like FDM, but visible). I'll try 45 degrees next, with supports from the bottom. Do I need to make a vent hole at the very bottom of the model, in the point closest to the plate? Or can it be higher?

Need advice on removing supports and cleaning up the model. I did the search, found videos, etc, but somehow their prints don't look like mine... Here is a miniature I'm testing on, the supports are from Chitubox but Meshmixer and Anycobic slicer give similar results. Most supports come off very easily, they just snap off but they leave these dimples on the model. In some places where I have to snip them off, I get this whitish mark on the model. If it was an FDM print I would just touch it up with a hot metal smoothing tool. What do I do here?

Photon is such a different world from FDM, opened my printer (I had watched videos on leveling, which is stupid easy anyway), leveled it in about 2 minutes, and fired up a print. I know it's not smart but I was too excited to do the damn test cube, went right for a berserker dwarf! Took me longer to double-check the supports (and add a few where I found islands) then it did to get the printer up and running. My Ender is still printing up the exhaust port for my in-line fan and charcoal filter so I'm in a room with all the windows open and a strong fan aimed at my Photon, wish me luck! I'll be back tomorrow morning singing its praises or asking a bunch of noob questions about why my print failed....

Hi, thanks for the add. I have several FDM printers and a good amount of experience there, but the Photon is my first SLA printer, so I'm stumbling my way around. So here is my first question:
After the mandatory cube print, I printed a miniature for testing, and I get successful prints but only if I drain the vat and filter the resin and clean the vat after every print. If I do that, the next print is fine. If I try to print again without cleaning the vat, the same thing happens every time: I get a layer of cured resin in the shape of the bottom layer stuck to the film, pretty hard, there is nothing on the plate, and the rest of the print is nowhere to be found. I then take out the vat, drain and filter the resin, peel off the hard resin blob from the film with the plastic scraper, wash the vat with IPA, and the next print is a success. Different slicers, different supports, different models, same result - cannot print twice without draining the vat. Why is this happening?
